I have just gone "live" with https://www.adsl4less.com (migration £14.99 and £14.99 per month for unmetered, fixed IP, 512k broadband - a bit of a bargain!!!).
Changed from Freedom2Surf who were very good in all respects but at £22.50/m were more expensive than comparable deals.
Hoping it all works out well - got my login details today be e-mail so will change the settings on my router when I get home and report back.if i had known then what i know now0 -
I have to agree with Jav, when I have used e7even's email support I have been astonished by the speed of reply. I had one response in around 90 seconds !
Cheers

It turns out that https://www.adsl4less.com is the cheaper offering from Hot Chilli Internet. Set it up in no time at all and it's working well
Great having the same product for £90.12 a year less ;Dif i had known then what i know now0 -
I have also signed up to homecall.co.uk at £24.99 per month - with free local and national calls including modem and registration.
Seems an excellent deal and am due to get the modem this week -will let you know how it goes.0 -
I know about the cap on Wanadoo, but is anyone else offering 1Mb download for 17.99 setup charge included?
I'm not downloading shedloads of media so am not so worried about download caps.
TIA,

Availability and speed are subject to linecheck. If 1Mbps (up to 20x faster than dial-up) speed is not available on your telephone line but 512Kbps (up to 10x faster than dial-up) is, you will get a 512Kbps service for the same price. Standard Broadband 512Kbps. Minimum 12 month contract applies. Subject to BT exchange availability. Payment by Direct Debit, Visa, Mastercard. Further terms of use apply - see https://www.wanadoo.co.uk/terms.
How can i find out if 1Mbps is available on my telephone line?
I have been with B.T Broadband for over a year are they likely to match the 1Mb for £17.99 per month offered by Wanadoo?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

guys,
take a look at my thread mentioned a page or so back, e7even are offering great deals until midnight tommorow. like I suggested your could go with them for say 6 months and it would costs (for a 1MB service) £148 which inc a free £75 BT modem which u could flog on ebay. Effectively its thus £73 for 6 months =£12.16 per month then you could simply migrate to someone like v21.co.uk or efhbroadband.com and pay as little as 19.96 per month (a couple of quid more than wanadoo I admit) but you get uncapped bandwidth and are not limited to the small wanadoo limit.
I suppose it depends on how much you use, though the 6 month e7even deal is unbeatable. If you stick with a 512kbps service it works out even better value. If your unsure of anything, let me know.

oh and about seeing whether a 1MB service is available on your line. Most 1MB services should be available if your already have a 512 service because the frameworks in place, plus during the signup process (after you put you tel no in) it should tell u if your lines 1MB capable anyway. They call me Mr Pig!0 -
Regarding the availability of 1Mb I think there are two issues.
1. The ability for the exchange to support 1Mb
2. The distance your house is from the exchange
Not sure of the exact distance (possibly upto 6k's - someone more knowledgable would be able to confirm) but as Jav said most suppliers will confirm if your chosen speed is available at sign-up.

Supanet seems to get good reviews on other websites. What do people think of them versus say Tesco?0
