The "Home Call Unlimited 512 Broadband" hyperlink ad on the rh side of the page is a bit of a give away
Although if the time it takes to load the new window (doesn't actually load - it is possible I hyave some browser / firewall / pop-up blobker that stops it from loading but, unlikely) is anything to go by then they obviously have teething problems.

I've been with Metronet for the last 6 months and have to say, the service is second to none. I'm an average user and my bills work out at just under £14 a month. There were problems late June/early July when a new pipe was being installed - occasional difficulty in connecting but they keep you up to date with any technical problems. For anyone contemplating BB for the first time , this is ideal.

I dont know if you or anyone else can help me. Ive no idea how much downloading etc I do in terms of MB. Im currently with NTL on 512Kbps which is 10x faster than dial up and pay £24.99 a month for unlimited use. I want to change because there are cheaper options and I think Metronet will be the best. I think Paygo500 will be the best for me but its hard to calculate. Is it easy once with Metronet to change from this to Paygo1000 if need be?
I download the occasional film :-[ and my daughters download quite a lot of music (probably one tune a day) and I send about 5 emails a day. I spend a lot of time on the web looking through websites (including this one!). But how this works out in terms of MB Ive no idea!
My main question is, do you think the Paygo500 will be best for me?0 -

I suggest you download and install a program such a Dumeter (http://dumeter.com/) which will measure your bandwidth usage to provide you with more information so you can make an informed decision.

In that case:
Downloading 1 tune a day and browsing web sites don't use much bandwidth.
Downloading the occasional film does though - though I guess you can work out roughly how much by looking at the file sizes of the movies you download.

???Am i missing something?
How can I shop about and change broadband providers without having to change my email address each time?
If to keep the same email I would have to have a domain name does this mean i can only look at broadband providers that host web space also?
If so does anybody know of any goo deals?0 -
I've been looking for a new broadband provider for the past few weeks.
The two cheapest unlimited 512k services I found were Fast4.net and E7even.
I was intending to sign up for a year if necessary to get the cheapest deal possible.
Both of these isp's charge an activation fee but offer a low monthly rate.
E7even charges £180 for the 12 months but also charges a 'membership fee' of £20 and activation fee of £50. They offera free modem and one month free.
Simply put this works out at £250 for 13 months. £19.23 per month for 13 months.
After this period the price drops to the equivalent of £16.67 per month.
Fast4.net charge £9.99 per month for first 2 months, then £16.99 for the months after that. They charge an activation fee of £58.75. There is no free modem.
Simply put this works out at £248.63 for 12 months. £20.72 per month for 12 months.
After this the price drops to the equivalent of 16.99 per month.
Therefore e7even wins. One last thing is that there seem to be alot of forums out there clogged up with complaints about Fast4.net's dialup service. E7even seems to get consitently good reviews.
I did try and persuade them to drop the activation fee in exchange for not getting the free modem but didn't get anywhere.
I've signed up for the 12 contract. Fingers crossed. Hope this has been of use to someone. If you decide to join e7even can you use my referrer code in the sign up please? 703762
Good luck

on the email. i asked same, now using https://www.hotpop.com
this is a pop service so allows u to get messages in to an email program such as outlook, so will not matter on isp, u can keep same address.
domain name?
if you want to pay? there are providers around that will give you webspace email ect from a few pounds a year. i looked in to this a wile ago and found several from about £5 a year.0 -
