Hi all
and firstly thanks for reading my post!!
Im in the process of reclaiming my partners 'bank charges' from before we met (£2000 inc stat int!!!)
But i fear i may of made an error, we received the copy statements and used the calculator to determine interest etc....printed off with the initial letter and sent to our local branch of the RBS, that was 12 days ago, they have 2 days further in which to reply, i know that the letter was received by the branch, but i have i 'cocked up' by sending to the local branch, should i of sent it to a 'centralised' address, and if we receive no reply i intend to issue a 'letter before legal action' again can i send this to local branch or do i need to send this to a 'central' address.....'phew!!'....im going dizzy reading all the different info about this subject!!
any info views etc... will be greatly accepted
cheers

Its fine to send the initial letter to your local branch and in the absence of any reply I would personally do the same with the second letter. Hope that helps

I have just received the following email from Penny Berryman - it will no doubt be of use to Lloyds Claimants:
Dear Ms M, all data request letters that arrive here are forwarded unopened to the Copy Statement Unit where they are logged and dealt with in order. The high volume of requests means that it is taking the full 40 days allowed by the DP Act to collate and issue the data. The 40 days starts from when the Bank receives the letter and the £10 fee – not from when it was posted. I expect you will receive your data in the first week of April.
Please note that despite what bloggers have put on websites, I am not the correct contact point for data requests. You could help your fellow claimants avoid delay by putting the correct address on the website/s you used:
Copy Statement Unit
Lloyds TSB Bank plc
Swallow House
10 Swallow Street
Birmingham
B1 2AL
If you have not had your data by Easter, you can raise a complaint by e-mail to the Contact.us@lloydstsb.co.uk address. Please do not come back via me as I am unable to assist.

I have asked lloydstsb to provide total charges or statements. i had to write to a lloyds data protection section in London(add. provided on the site). Now that my statements have arrived, do i write to this same address to ask for my money back or do i write to my branch?0

I have recieved all my statements and worked out what I am claiming back from the Bank Of Scotland. Which address do I send my claim to, the original place I wrote to get my statements or the branch where the accounts are held?
Many thanks for any information.0 -
just write to your nearest branch.
stating the total charges and second letter, then if unsatisfactory result, send third. then court.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
