Oh, he's gorgeous!!
I think holidays with little ones can be really hard - all the packing and unpacking is bad enough, but it's just so much easier to cope with a baby if you are at home with all your familiar things around. And it unsettles them too, gets them out of their routine etc. We're going away in October and honestly, I'm dreading it!!
Try and enjoy your afternoon with your friend and I hope your headache gets better soon. xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
OMG had to call an ambulance this morning  Imogen fell off her change mat.
It's one of those which is on top of some drawers. I was looking in the second drawer about 18 inches down (they're deep drawers) for some socks and all of a sudden she had dived off the change mat and hit her head on the drawer. I scooped her straight up and into my room to have a proper look at her. She had a deep dent in her forehead which was already blue and was puce from screaming.
By the time the ambulance arrived she had calmed down and was her usual smiley self. The ambulance man said she looked fine, but would have a big bruise and lump - which she now does. They gave me the option to take her to A&E, but she seemed so like herself by then I felt guilty for calling them out. They said I'd done the right thing though and would prefer to come out and find a child okay, than not be called and have something go wrong.
She's just got up from a nap so we're off out for lunch to cheer us up. Not very MSE I know, but it'll make me feel better. Just glad she's okay
Bailey - hope you're having a better time. I'm sure probs with DH are just a phase. Your hormones must be all over the place and that won't make it any easier to be dealing with a willful active baby. Imogen's just started having mini tantrums and it takes everything I have to deal with them. Don't know what I'd do if I was pregnant, tired and emotional too!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

 Glad Imogen wasn't badly hurt, Lu! Bet your heart was racing!
Bailey - haven't got anything constructive to say about settling Jack back into a routine - my eldest was a !!!!!! going to sleep during the daytime at that age but miserable as sin without it! Hope he gets back into routine ASAP.0 -
Sorry to hear you are having a bad day bailey. These hormones are a blinking nusiance at times! Can you do something relaxing before Jack comes back, like have a nice deep bubble bath. That always makes me feel better. Those pics are lovely - he's gorgeous!
Glad to hear Imogen is ok. When my son was a baby he did the same thing. I squatted down to the bottom drawer and he was on the changing mat on top. In the split second as he passed by my eyes, I managed to put my arms out and grab him. He was shook up, but otherwise ok. I either changed them on the floor or didn't move from the drawers after that.
Charlotte is doing better on the bottle milk rather than breast milk. She's going longer between feeds and isn't hungry all the time now, and she seems much more content. I learned this song at a baby group I go to. Charlottle absolutely loves it and giggles like mad, so I thought I'd share it. It's to the tune of Frere Jacques:
(put hands over face)
Where is Mammy?, Where is Mammy?
Where's she gone? Where's she gone?
(uncover face)
Hello little baby, hello little baby
Here I am, Here I am.
You can replace "baby" with their name if you prefer. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Oh crikey Lu, I'm glad she is okay! Are you okay? I bet it has shaken you up a bit."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

glad imogen is ok, i remember kennedy falling off our bed and my heart was in my mouth! luckily she bounced was ok.
big day today, i packed away the steriliser!!! it is no more, kenny is only having 2 bottles a day now so it seemed daft to have the big steriliser out, i have a smaller microwave one that came with my breastpump so i will use that now. i can see the work top again.0 -
Glad Imogen is okay.
DS1 was a bit older when he fell off our bed and hit his head on the corner of the bedside table. There was blood everywhere and stuff, so we rushed off to the A&E. By the time we were seen, he was back to his normal self and was demanding snacks.
Hope you're feeling better, bailey.Love the pics.
I've managed to come down with a cold, how crap is that. Just hope Alex is not going to get it - there's nothing worse than trying to BF a baby who's got a stuffy nose.0 -
Thanks all. Imogen is fine, just has a lump on her head - a much smaller one than I imagined - and a small bruise in a line where she hit the drawer.
Hubby raced home and passed the ambulance on its way to another job and has taken us for lunch. Then we've done some leisurely shopping and I feel much better
Still feel awful for nearly 'breaking' the baby again though. I know I'm not the first and won't be the last, but it has shaken me up. I can't really talk about it without bursting into tears!!
Heather - can't remember how old Kennedy is, but you can stop sterilising and boiling then cooling water at 8 months. Imogen's only on 2 bottles a day now so we've packed the steriliser away and just use cold water, warmed with a bit of hot from the kettle. It's way easier! LOL
Becles, love the song, will try that one :rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Don't feel too bad sweetie, if you notice, no-one has said 'oh how could you???' - that's because most of us have either done it or nearly done it ourselves.
I fell asleep feeding ds once, and he rolled off my lap, down my outstretched legs and landed with a plop on the floor! And on another occasion he fell off the bed even though I was right there next to him.
Don't beat yourself up over it, you are a great Mum."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
DS fell head over heels off the sofa a few months ago...ooops. I'd put him right back in the corner, slightly leaning towards the back whilst I put up his door bouncer right beside the sofa...
These things happen! The HV was very understanding...lol.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0
