    Make the most of it!

Charlotte is 17 weeks, and my milk alone isn't enough for her now. At the moment we're on a 7oz bottle around 4pm and one at 10pm.

At the moment she's still taking 5 breast milk feeds as well as the bottles, but they're only about 2 hours apart which is a bit of a bind.
Here I go again on my own....

purple, my DD is also 10 months she sleeps from 7pm till 7 or 8am and has 2 1/2 hour naps in the day one at 11am and one at 2pm, and by tea time she is cranky as hell but wont sleep any longer. little madam.

oh and she learnt to clap this week! i've started shopping for her birthday present and i feel all sad that she'll soon be a toddler and not a baby any more.
  • my middle child (i have 3 ) was a late talker he didnt speak at all and hardley ever made any sounds none of the usuall baby babble, he would say the odd few words that only we could understand,he could understand everything that was said to him, and it never seemed to bother him he never got frustrated by it i took him to health visitor and doctors then finally when he was 31/2 they agreed to send him to a speech therapist they were fantastic 3 months later he could say most things hes now 8 and is doing great infact he never shuts up now (making up for lost time)

Ive only just found this thread. Can I join?

My daughter is really enjoying school (for now!) I thought I would be OK as she has been at nursery since she was a baby but I was filling up as I dropped her off! x

    Welcome aboard penguin83!

I'm surprised how different I felt about taking my son to school rather than nursery school. (Even though they are literally two classrooms next to each other!)

I think it's the routine of doing the school run with all the other parents, rather than dropping him off at the kids' club on the way to work. It does make me feel that my first baby is growing up fast! :o

Welcome all newbies, glad to have you here.

Purple - Imogen sleeps 7-7 over night, has breakfast then goes back down anywhere from 8-9.30am when she sleeps for around an hour. This morning she was up at 7am, breakfast at 8am, back in bed at 8.40 and didn't get up until 10am! Big bonus as today's my day off. :j She was then up all morning and had about 1.25hrs after lunch.

We find she needs 2 sleeps, even though she does 12 hours overnight. We don't let her sleep after about 3.30pm (4pm latest) as this really knocks on to bedtime.

Penguin - a friend of mine had a boy who didn't speak until her was 3. Sounds similar to your DS. Then all of a sudden he was speaking in full sentences! Little beggar had been taking it all in and didn't see the benefit in speaking, then all of a sudden decided to join in! Hope all goes well with hearing test - surely if he understands what everyone is saying to him then that isn't the problem? HTH

Broodiness - just found out my SIL is TTC. They have a boy of 3 who is just starting his half days at nursery. V jealous - but of being pregnant, not necessarily of juggling two little ones! We're going to wait another year, then will hopefully be trying around now. I'll only be going back to the office in March after 15 months (that'll be fun when I make the announcement - I was pregnant when I took the job!!). I'd like an age gap of around 2.5 years between them. And we'll need to save to afford me having my maternity leave. I presume the 12 months is another 3 at stat (i.e. £108/wk and who can live on that?!)

Hope you're all well. Just off to bath the little darling ;)

  • Hi,

My daughter has her first immunisations yesterday (shes almost 12 weeks instead of 8 but dont even get me started!) and shes been really, well, weird ever since! Shes usually so placid and lovely but today shes hardly slept shes been really crabbit and constantly wants to me held (by me, noone else!). My son never reacted to his injections but this is such a turnaround for a baby who is usually so placid and easy to look after.

She usually goes to bed at 7 but I couldnt get her to go down til 10 pm tonight, and she hadnt slept all day albeit 5 minute power naps (these precious naps were for me a chance to run to the loo and stick the kettle on!). Do you think the immunisations might be the cause of this?

Charlotte was grotty after her first injections. Nothing specifially wrong - she was just grumpy and wouldn't settle, which isn't like her as she's normally quite placid. Some Calpol helped her, and hubby and me took turns holding her and comforting her as she didn't want to be put down. It only lasted a day though, so hopefully your daughter might feel better this morning.

Charlotte also got a lump on her thigh from the 3rd set of injections. It must have hurt, as she didn't like anyone touching that leg, so we had to be careful when we picked her up! It went away within a couple of days though. Just something to watch out for in case your daughter has a lump too.

    Hi Lollyred1

We saved some cash to tide us over as SMP was nowhere near what we needed.

A tight budget and saving pennies where you can is what I'd recommend. If you want any specific money-saving tips, just ask. :money:

Hamster - Imogen was the same after her jabs but, as with Charlotte, it didn't last long. HTH

Yes, Natasha was weird after her jabs too - I think it's probably because it's the first horrible thing that has ever happened to them, and it completely freaks them out......loads of cuddles are the best thing, to give them comfort and reassurance. It will probably pass after a couple of days.
