Lu T - that swing on your link is meant for children from 18 months?

I love the swing we have - I can actually get to have a cup of tea whilst he's in it...:D

OK - feeling really stupid now! Still a bargain if it's suitable from 18mths to 10yrs though. Perhaps we'll have that other one for her half-day. (That's her 'official' birthday on 26 June which is half-way through the year after her real birthday on Boxing Day. If it's good enough for the queen, it's good enough for our princess! And it means we don't have a house full of double the stuff once a year and she gets summer toys too. Winner all round we reckon :T )

my darling princess walked today!!! shes 10 months on monday, she's been pulling her self up onto her feet on the furniture for about a week and then this evening she was holding onto my hands and started moving forwards!!! she looked like that guy from men in black stomping her feet (she hasn't figured out that her knees bend yet!) but she managed about 5 steps before she sat down.

I've got a couple of questions actually, especially for mums who have breastfed more than one. I expected BFing to feel the same this time, but am finding it's different: I'm leaking a lot less (also no squirty milk fountains like last time :o). I know my milk only came in two days ago though so I guess this might still change. Also, my let-down feels different - a lot less strong - this is normal, right?

    Hi Dormouse

I think it's different for everybody. My milk is just as plentiful as last time - complete with the fountains and wet patches! :o It's just starting to ease off a little now (after 7 weeks!)

Congrats to Dormouse and hello to everyone, its been a while since I have been in touch.
After we adopted our little boy life has never been the same. IT'S WONDERFUL, WE ARE SOOOOO HAPPY, TIRED and can't remember what it is like to be just a couple!
For those of you who may be stuggling to concieve and have concerns about adoption, go for it. It is hard and I can help you understand the process.
But nothing that you have to go through will matter when you have your baby.

We are planning to give DS a half birthday - on June 21st - or we will when he's older, just so he can have a day that's his, and not mixed up with Christmas.

My milk varies on a daily basis.

Sometimes I feel as if I haven't got any at all, and I have to twiddle with my nipples so I can see there is some in there! Other times I have far too much. This morning, Charlotte was feeding from the right one, and the left one was working it's socks off soaking the breast pad, my bra and my top :o
Here I go again on my own....

Thanks everyone. :) I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens with the milk, but fingers crossed I might get away with slightly less leakage this time. :D

Am actually having a bit of a crap day. :( Alex was excellent all day yesterday, going about 3 1/2 hours between his feeds :T - I got loads of stuff done. Today, it looks like we're back to snacking. Grrrrr.

Can I have a bit of a moan? :o I'm SO fed up with the MW visiting every day. She hasn't been today or yesterday, but is coming again tomorrow morning (MORNING  - not a good time to be visiting a household with a newborn! ).

When I had DS1, I quite looked forward to the MW coming, but TBH this time I just don't see the point. I'm not saying I know everything and am a perfect parent, but I'm not having any problems so her turning up every day and asking the same stupid questions is a bit pointless ("So how are you today? Tired?" What do you bloomin' think?). Then she goes off talking about cabbage leaves - yes I know, I've done this before, my nipples are fine thank you very much. Can't wait till the 10 days are up.

Oh yes, and the cord dropped off last night. He's a big boy now, awww. :)

The midwife left a week between visits when I came home!! :o She did offer to visit more often but I was okay with that and I had her mobile number in case of emergencies!! :D Perhaps you could hint that you don't need to see her so much!

(First time round we practically begged the midwife to visit every day and spent the whole day waiting for her to come and answer all our questions!)

As to feeding, Ben has days when he can happily go several hours between feeds and days when he waits to feed every hour or so! Gina Ford would have a fit at my lack of routine! ;)

I can't believe your midwife is coming every day! It would drive me nuts. Mine came twice in total! Why don't you just pretend to be out....lol. :)
