CG, I've got roughly the same age gap, and it's actually really nice. Bit of a shock to the system dealing with 'baby stuff' again, but DS (nearly 7) thinks the world of the baby, and is very sweet to her. He was unsettled for a few weeks but is already calming back down as life becomes 'normal' again."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

well DD is 8 months so say 6-12 months of ttc would be 2 under 2!!
when trying for DD we had 4 months of not really trying just practicing and i was up the duff! so knowing my luck i'll be preggers again within 6 months0 -
Thanks Snaggles,
My DD is really looking forward to it although she does have her worries, she asked me the other night about something she had seen on tv where the parents have a new baby and the older child "didnt get any care" awww bless her!
She is old enough to help and feel useful, but hopefully she will know when to stop *fingers crossed*
she was good when her cousin was born, if not a little bored to start with because "babies dont do anything!" but i think she is concerned about how much crying there will be and wether our new baby will be anything like her cousin (who has turned out to be the spawn of the devil)0 -
Ryan did say to me just before the baby was born 'You will like playing with the new baby more than me, because when I get a new toy, I like it better than my old toys'.
But then I reminded him about his 'floppy dog' (a soft toy that goes everywhere and he sleeps cuddled up to), and asked him if he loved floppy dog any less when he got a new toy. He said no, so I said it's just the same with a new baby, I'll have to spend quite a bit of time with the new baby but it doesn't mean I'll love you any less. He seemed quite happy with that explanation, and we haven't had any 'you love the baby more than me' type outbursts.

but as for age differences....my DD turned 7 last month
eeep!
It's a good age gap. My sons are 10 and 8, and they help a lot with the baby. When hubby is at work, they watch her so I can have a shower, and they help with nappies and stuff.
Just had a baby bottom explosion here, and as she had shorts on, it went everywhere! My 8 year old helped me by filling the sink with warm water to wash baby in, and then fetched a clean nappy and clothes for her. Once she was cleaned up, he played with her while I cleaned her chair up and rinsed her dirty clothes out. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I feel like we are twins heather.
Charlie is currently 8.5 months. I'm also currently on my period but then will be getting stuck in.
Last time i fell pregnant the 1st time of trying - no kidding. I had been off the pill a year then though and had been eating really healthily beforehand and off work ill, so not too stressed. I have just taken 4 months of the pill again, so i don't think i will be as quick this time. But, you never know. I would also then have about 18 months - 2 years between them.
Monkey boy has been really amusing today. He was much better at his crawling, and managed to crawl along the shelf under the coffee table, and through the metal frame of the bouncy chair. Maybe he will be a caver or pot-holer when he is bigger. He is into absolutely everything.
I also went into work, and he had great fun exploring my office while i had a tea and got my work timetable for next term. It's really pants as well. I have time off over 3 days. Monday i get to leave 1 hour early, Tuesday i go in 2 hours late, then on Friday i go in for an hour and a half, then have 3 hours off, then another 2 hours of teaching. Hopefully i conceive quickly and only have to endure it for a short amount of time. I can't see my hours off providing much quality time with Charlie, so i will use them to work, and then i won't have work to do on a weekend, and that's when we can have fun0 -
oh what a night. kennedy woke up at 8pm screaming, i went upto her and she was shaking and gasping for breath, and was staring into space.
we rushed her to a&e, 3 hours later we saw a dr who said he couldn't find anything wrong with her, and concluded that she'd had a bad dream!
not happy at all.
she's got nappy rash atm and it's infected so she's on penicillin and i thought it was an allergy but they said it wasn't as she didn't have a rash.
she seems ok now but i was a bit of a mess before. i can't believe they made us wait 3 hours with a baby!0 -
That's awful Heather, I'd have been going crazy with worry. I'm glad she's okay now, and it's no surprise you were a bit of a mess. I'm sure kids do these things just to scare us sometimes, but the doctors don't help when they don't seem that bothered."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
