Thanks for asking bailey - it wasn't too bad in the end. She woke up around 2.30am still in her swing and had a bottle. Fell asleep in my arms, so I put her in the cot and she stayed asleep until dh got up at 6am this morning for work and made enough noise to wake her up! She's having another sleep now and doesn't seem too ill in herself. Just really really hates me wiping her nose, so she's a bit caked in snot!!:rotfl:

I lurk occassionally, so I hope you don't mind me posting. I am pg with #3, and found that a bit of vaseline wiped around baby's nose and top lip stopped the snot sticking, which of course makes it a doddle to wipe away.

This won't stop baby not liking nose wiping, but the discomfort is for just a few secs.

:T have just smeared a load around her little red hooter - it was looking a bit dry so will help that too. Thanks - all lurkers are very welcome!

Thanks for that tip izoom. Imogen also hates having her face wiped but seems okay if I 'dab' at it and sing a song at the same time!

I've had some good news - one of the pics of my bump is going to be featured on the Hipp Organic website next month! They're sending me some weaning stuff as a prize (shame I didn't win the £25 Mothercare vouchers!).

If you want a peek the page is here. It's not on yet though. http://www.hipp.co.uk/your_baby/bumps.htm They do a good club and have some recipes on there too I think.

Went to help out at the Environment Agency's press office yesterday (my job I'm on mat leave from - needs must when it's this wet!) Actually had a good time and am quite looking forward to going back in March now. However, while I was there HR had a bit of a flap because apparently my maternity leave will end if I do any more "work" there. I thought I could do a couple of days of "integration" while I'm off without it affecting my mat leave. Can anyone advise? I'm keen to help my team out when the flooding is this bad, but don't want to be forced back to work just because I'm helping out in a crisis!!

You can now do up to 10 paid days work at your old job whilst on maternity leave without affecting your maternity benefits.

This was introduced by the latest set of maternity rules affecting babies born after April 2007 so might not apply to you?

It is based on due date so it only applies if your due date was 1st April 2007 or later (regardless of when they baby was actually born).

The Coop are doing two for one on own brand wipes at the moment. Don't know how they compare with "normal" wipes but they're the cheapest biodegradable wipes I could find anyway and with BOGOF they're even better (£1.99 for 2x72 wipes).

    Hi
About the mints for breakfast - well no it is not a suitable breakfast, but is it worth potentially falling out over? I would have a word about not undermining you, but if it is a one off let it go.

Know that one - my 81/2month old not so much crawling as dragging himself across the room at the moment. I can see he is trying to crawl as he can stick either his bum or his head in the air but struggles with both. :rotfl:

Or the other favourite is trying to pull himself up, which is not so safe in the bathroom when he tries up the side of the loo

Welcome - the more the merrier!!

oh - and the mints for breakfast - did the MIL know that was the school policy? Can you not have a bit of a chat saying that the school doesn't allow them to have sweets and that you wouldn't mind so much if it wa if she was picking them up, but you don't want it to happen in the morning to support the school policy??

I have to admit though, i would be annoyed by it, but than again my MIL works for surestart so i don't think she will be giving my little one sweets. I was feeding him a bit of a kinder egg over several days cos my sister gave it him as his favour at her wedding. She said - why are you bothering giving it to him when he doesn't seem bothered?

Would you be as bothered if it was your mum? In my experience, i am more tolerant of my mum doing something, which is totally wrong, but human nature.
