    • Brand vs. supermarket own
Shops' own brand nappies are much cheaper than some other well known brands and are often made by the same manufacturers. The price difference can be as much as £1.50 per pack and that adds up into the £100s when you're buying 5340 nappies per baby!

Anyone know which wll known brands manufacture for which own brands??

    Many thanks:j

Apparently Pampers make Boots nappies - they're definitely very similar to look at, but the Boots ones are about half the price.

Charlotte slept for 7½ hours last night. That's the longest she has gone between feeds so far.

And I feel much better having got a decent sleep as well.
:j Hope she keeps it up.

    Alice varies between 3 and 7 1/2 hours from the 10.30 feed.

Nathan has been starting to sleep through as well now. He wakes up for a feed when we go to bed around 11ish but mostly sleeps through till 7am. It is wonderful having a decent nights sleep.. mind you it has taken almost a year!!

She wakes up STARVING though and feeds viciously for the first couple of minutes....ouch!

I get that sometimes too and it is OUCH!!

Does Natasha make funny noises when she's feeding? Charlotte gives a running commentary so I can't feed her discreetly :o

Then at the end, she often spits the nipple out loudly, smacks her lips together and gives a satisfied "aaaaah" :rotfl:

Just popping in after my wet hols at centre parks.

lu T it was me who fancied the handy sitt, and unfortunately i was away and now its too late. Although i havespent enough recently so oh well.

bailey i'd like to say congratulations. I know 3 people who are pregnant again within the year, none of them have had the baby yet but all 3 planned to do so. To be honest, i am likely to try again in September when Charlie will be about 10-11 months old. I think the ideas of trying to keep to the 1st routine and then fitting the new baby in to that to be a good one.

other than that, not a lot to say. Charlie has been a little piglet when we were away, and has put on nearly 2 pounds in less than a month. He was eating a 7 month old jar, and then happily eating bits from our plate while we were away, including very fattening things like ice-cream and cake, so i will be getting him back on the home made food. Up to now he has followed the 75% line on the weight chart, but he is now nearer 91%, and i don't want him to end up overweight,

Also, while we are away, he has now learnt how to sit up without support, and he is moving round really quickly in a sniper style crawl. He also won't let me hold his bottle at all when he is feeding, so i am just waiting now for him to refuse for me to feed him with a spoon. Gosh - he's only 8months but growing so fast. Someone mistook him for an 18 month old in the swimming pool last week.

Oh - and also i had a proud mummy moment when the cleaner came into our chalet last week and said, 'you have a good baby - he doesn't make much mess does he?' probably because food goes in his mouth - end of story. :rotfl:

Yes, she's not discreet at all - she makes noises and thrashes about. When she's had a good few gulps of foremilk to satisfy her thirst, she flings her head back (exposing me to anyone who happens to be nearby :o), burps loudly, then latches back on with a sort of mmmfffff slurrrrp noise.

  • Thanks everyone for your help and encouragement, there are plenty of ideas to think about and some lovely suggestions. I will definiately look into that Homestart. The bath idea is great too. I think your right the new baby will have to fit into Jack's routine and will probably be more laid back for it.

I feel chilled out if not very tired this evening. Been making lumpy baby food tonight, some of what we had for tea and some lasagne I am making for the weekend......dinner guests. He has a choice for tomorrow now. oh and I forgot to say, Jack's realised he likes food now and on 3 meals a day in 1 week. Little pickle pants!!!

I must go to bed soon.

My LO is up and feeling very sorry for herself. Full of cold, coughing and spluttering, won't let me wipe her nose. Moans as soon as I try to put her back in the cot. I've tried raising one end of her mattress, but now she's mobile, she moves around and ends up with her head up the other end and therefore her feet are higher than her head so her nose is glued up even worse than before! I've put her in her swing for now which has helped her breathing as her nose has cleared a lot, but she isn't going to sleep. Looks like I'm in for a bad night - pretty much resigned myself to sitting up with her downstairs so at least dh gets some sleep. Noticed DD1 started sneezing with a vengeance late yesterday afternoon, so looks like she's got it too and my throat is feeling a bit scratchy. Nearly July and a houseful of colds!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wish I'd never bothered taking her to toddler group on Monday now - we can't go anywhere without one of them picking up some germ or other, but was hoping for a bit of a lull over the summer months
  • No sorry I am in East Sussex. Hopefully someone will be though.
