Thanks Baybee, that really worked!
I'm all better, well can't breathe, but feeling human again. Family thing was fine, lots of cake to be had. And Joseph celebrated by his first crawl (HELP ) AND a lovely new tooth. The first for daddy, latter found by grandma. Isn't it annoying how you're there everyday and night and still miss stuff?? And why didn't anybody tell me how sharp and serrated the tooth would be? Did not expect that - asked my 3yo nephew to bite me when I was told milk teeth were all like that. Ouch.
Hope you're all well!:wall:0 -

Morning all - just got back from me hols and catching up on it all before tackling the horrors of holiday washing.
Lots of firsts to report - as well as being a demon crawler Archie is now
sitting up
eating lumpy food
sleeping through the night (7am - till 6am:eek: hopefully will get to a more reasonable hour soon)
and the cutest thing of all discovered by ds1 as we were on our way to north wales last Sat. is a dinky (but sharp) first tooth.:T
Holiday was great - just what I needed. We fitted in a visit to a pal who is about to produce twins and visited one of the most beautiful places in north wales - Beddgelert (pronounced beth-gelert ) Very moneysaving place to visit too as the littlies can splash around in the stream there and be entertained for hours - would recommend that area to anyone (shops cheap too!).MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Morning all
quick question, what do you use for daytime naps? LO gets put in cot at nursery but I still use pram at home?
HF is doing well on weaning, I dont think there is anything he wont eat and constantly wants more...no teeth yet for us but think there might be a little white tip popping through so you never know!!
S**t night last night but generally sleeping better 8.30-4.30 since food, just need to try and extend this somehow..any tips?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Mazcabs, Natasha tends to just sleep where she falls at home....quite often on the carpet!
I just put a little blanket over her in case she gets cold on the floor. If I move her, she wakes up, and she's perfectly comfortable there. If I spot in advance that she's looking tired, I take her upstairs and let her play in her cot until she goes off, and I clean the bedrooms around her. She's never had any trouble sleeping at night though, so I don't have the 'cot is for bedtime' thing to worry about. She also still has her bouncy chair - I know they are only supposed to be for younger babies, but when she's tired, she often climbs into it herself and goes to sleep! :A
The pram sounds like a good stop-gap to me, I don't think I would bother buying her something specially.
Hope all the poorly babies (and Mums) have a quick recovery - Dormouse the tummy bug that is going round is just awful, hope you all recover quickly. Well done Joseph on the crawling and Archie on the sitting, eating and sleeping. :T
I have stopped breastfeeding Natasha - she's almost 13 months old, and I was feeling like the time was right, although I feel a bit sad (not to mention leaky ). She doesn't seem bothered in general, although she did give me the big sad eyes, pull at my top and say 'ungy' (hungry) at snack time today.
But.......wooooo, peanuts, I am so excited about being able to have peanuts.....what shall I have first? Snickers? Chicken satay? Nutrageous? Peanut butter? (I don't especially love any of those, but I've been craving them for the last 18 months because I knew I couldn't have them :rotfl:)"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Snaggles why can't you have peanuts when BF-ing?
:grouphug: for you, hope you don't feel too sad at it ending, I get upset just thinking about it :eek:0 -
Aww Snaggles, she's a proper big girl now then, no more milk! I can imagine how sad it must be, but as you said, the time is right. :grouphug:
I've been very naughty and have been having peanuts for months now. :shhh: I think the deciding factor was reading that the UK is the only country in Europe that says no peanuts in pregnancy or during BFing, and they're reviewing the guidelines anyway, so I thought, stuff them.I'm not even that big a fan of peanuts either, but it was bugging me when DH bought them and offered them to me and then did a big "You have never ever told me you're not allowed peanuts!" face. (Selective hearing or what!) :rotfl:
Fac - it's something to do with preventing asthma and allergies, apparently, but no-one's sure whether it's true or not.
Edit: just googled it and that wasn't entirely right. Those with a family history of asthma and allergies may want to avoid peanuts as their babies are more likely to be allergic to peanuts. Or something like that anyway.0 -
Yes, I only avoided them because we have lots of asthma and other allergies in our family - I think they're safe if you don't have a family history.
It's a bit sad giving up, but only for me - she really seems absolutely fine with it. I'm just starting to feel a bit 'swollen' lol, but it's not too bad yet, and I can't imagine it will get too much worse, as it's over 48 hours since her last breastfeed, and my body should be starting to adapt by now I think. I will enjoy the Jordans while they last though!! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Ellie has always been a good sleeper but when I started weaning her she went the opposite way and started waking through the night. As she is rolling over onto her tummy now and can hold herself up I have started putting her down to sleep on her tummy and she has started sleeping through again.
Hope all babies and mummys (oh and any daddies) are feeling better todayEveryone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
I haven't been a Mummy this weekend! I've just come back from Dublin and had the most fantastic time with my girlfriends. There was a spare place and DH talked me into having a break and I'm so glad he did! Extra Brownie points for him
Also have my scan booked for 13 June when I will be 13w. Only when I but the phone down did I realise that its Friday 13th  .0
