    Welcome Janec :)

Snaggles, didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but OMG! Glad you're all feeling better now, and stop feeling guilty!!! You cannot be around your child every second of the day, it was just one of those things. And I know how eager big brothers can be - yesterday morning found DS1 in DS2's cot - this is a 4 1/2 year-old who's the height of an average 6-yr-old!  Big hugs to you all. :)

Oh yes, any recommendations for baby back carriers - you know, the outdoorsy ones, for happy family walks in the sunshine (I just know that's never going to happen, it'll be whingey children in the rain! :rotfl: )

Saw a cheapy one for £40 but also saw some for £160  so not exactly sure what the difference is.

For the person who was looking for powdered whole milk: don't know if this would be any use but you can get UHT whole milk.

I'd be interested too. We bought a woven wrap for back carries but tying the baby on your back is a bit harder than on your front and OH is a bit dubious so I can see him deciding we need a "proper" back carrier.

DS eczema is now well on the way to be under control, thanks to Lush's Dream Cream! I've only been using it twice a day since Wednesday, and most of the patches are gone...:T

We have a paedeatric (sp?) referal for Imogen's eczema, just waiting for the app't. None of us can bear the screams and crying when applying her (prescribed) cream. It obviously stings as she shudders before she cries and sucks her breath in. The doc just referred her straight to the consultant (missing any local nurse dermatology specialists). It isn't always that bad, perhaps 3 days out of 7, but this is with applying prescribed cream twice a day for the last 13 months and using Oilatum Plus in her bath.

Imogen has settled into her bed very well. But after Nana commented that I went straight into a bed at 18 months without probs and didn't fall out we put the bed-guard down. First two nights were fine, but on Monday night there was an almighty bang as she fell out  When I got to her room (having cleared the stairs 2 at a time) she was sound asleep on the floor :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I only woke her up trying to put her back in bed, poor little thing. Took me an hour to settle her. Suffice to say, bed-guard is now up.

Has anyone had a problem with snuffly grunting newborns? My LO wakes up without fail at about 4.30 sounding very flemmy and can't settle again. Sounds like lots of mucus gathering at the back of her throat, but then again it only seems to be an issue if something else is bothering her eg wind or wanting a cuddle. She is grunting away in her moses basket next to me now, so impossible for me and OH to sleep. Will probably pick her up soon and let her sleep on my chest - there'll be no grunting and clearing throat noises then.

I just don't know how to help her with it. Started giving her a bit of water in case she is dehydrated, and raised the head end of the moses basket by buting a rolled up blanket underneath it so she isn't lying totally flat. But she still sounds like she's fighting for breath sometimes which is obviously quite scary! Took her to the docs about it but he says it's totally normal, as does hv. Maybe it is, but I'd still like to figure out a way to stop it!

Yup, and I still have a snuffly grunty 15 week old, not every night but fairly regularly. I asked at his eight week check and my doctor too said it was normal, just that "some babies have narrower nasal passages than others" and that makes them snuffly. Don't know if that's true or not, but I am hoping it gets better as Tom gets bigger.

And poor Imogen :( My DD had really bad eczema (bleeding and blistering) until she was about three and it's really not nice. I hope the hospital can do someting to help.
  • Ruby is still a bit snuffly and grunty and shes nearly 6 weeks old - Gp said it is normal in babies and nothing to worry about - easier said than done! Getting used to the noises she makes now so I now whats normal for her and I'm not as anxious. My oh wondered if it was the central heating making her a bit dry so I'v turned the radiator off in our room to see if this makes a difference:confused:

My lo is 25 weeks now and was very snuffly for the first 3 months also. drs said it was normal and recommended tilting cot I remember- I only untilted the cot a few weeks ago and he now sleeps so quietly we can hardly tell he is there (except when he wakes for the inevitable night feeds of course).

Sorry to hear imogen is suffering so badly lu t hope the docs come up with some good solutions for you - poor baby!

    :hello: Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would introduce myself and join you all as my son is now 1 month old and it is about time I stopped looking at the Pregnancy Club!!

Have any of you had any experience of Aptimil Easy Digest Formula? We are mixed feeding with EBM and formula (normal Aptimil), however Peter is getting very windy. We are using Infacol and have just switched to Avent Number 2 teats in the bottles, but we have to use the Variflow teats for the Easy Digest formula (which we want to use for the night feeds). Peter is having problems with the variflow teats though - the first setting is not big enough for him to suck the formula properly and he gets frustrated, the second setting is too fast and a lot ends up running out of the sides of his mouth! Any ideas? Are there any Medium flow Single hole teats avalable for Avent bottles, or at least ones that would be compatible?

    Sarah
