Sunlight is good for nappy stains so that might help too?
Oh yes, forgot about the sunlight tip - I really think it works sometimes! And the summer should be here soon , so a very good eco-friendly tip there. :T

For 1 week to my due date here, i am getting very impatient of waiting. DS is at nursery today, so i should be resting or something, but i am catching up on washing, and online banking/shopping, and did half an hour of weeding in the garden. Also went into work today, and made sure we had some petrol in my car so DH can use it for the hospital visits. I don't think i could be more organised if i tried. Oh well. It will happen when it happens now.
Good luck, it's so exciting! :j And well done on being so organised :T (and dare I say it, it will be a long time until you are organised again - well, maybe that's just my experience of life with two kids! :o :rotfl: )

Charlotte is pulling herself onto her feet now.

She was in the sitting room playing and I was in the kitchen yesterday. It went very quiet so I had the "uh-oh what's she doing?" thought and went in to see what she was up to.

She was standing up at the coffee table reading a magazine :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

:T Well done Charlotte. Standing is to be expected, but reading a magazine, amazing :D

Have any of you used the sun protection suit things for the beach? Are they good enough? Does it mean you only have to put cream on their faces/feet/arms?

    Becles - reading a magazine - now that is amazing :T :T

Having visited Australia I'd say those swimwuits are amazing for keeping sun off of bubs bodies - just check the uv (or whatever) rating of the garment - I think it should be around 50.

Regarding suncreams - yes you just need to put it onto the exposed places of their bodies BUT be careful around the eyes, because when they get hot and sweaty (in this country  ), the lotion can then run into their eyes, or they can wipe it from their hands into their eyes.

    I've obviously had the T-shirt, haven't I.

Started weaning Samantha now  . Can't do BLW with breakfast really unless I want a BIG mess or it is fruit, so have been feeding her a bit of weetbix / oat porridge which she didn't quite like the first day, but has been more willing subsequently. We are doing BLW for dinner (evening meal), but I am not sure what time to do it. As you may or may not know, I have DS1 who is 9 and DS2 who is 6, and they generally eat when DH comes home at 6:30. But to feed Samantha at this time is just too late - she is starting be tired then, and then she has to bath (as meals are MESSSY), afterwards DS2 has to bath (and his bed time is 7:30) so limited time, then DS1 (and his bedtime is 8:00) and then DH afterwards. It is like a finely tuned production line :rotfl: and the human element just dooms it to failure :rotfl: .

I don't really want to feed her on her own earlier, as I want her to interact with us at meal times .... Those of you with huge gaps in your children's ages, what do you do ????

My DH also gets in at half six, but I do tea for the girls where we usually sit around the table and interact before he gets in at around half five ish (I don't eat anything, just help Izzy and chat etc). Then he and I eat supper at half seven to eight after they've gone to bed.

All a bit painful as I have 2 lots of meal times in the evening, but seems to be the most painless option at the moment. As they get older that may well change to the way you do it, but probably not until Izzy is 4 ish.

Izoom, I'm planning on eating my tea at 5 with the children (ds1 -10, ds2 6mths) soon, as I find that if I wait till oh's prefered time to eat (around 7pm or later:eek: ) I've got soooo hungery before I've snacked anyway and end up eating just because I've cooked. As I have lots of baby weight to lose I need to eat less not more! At the moment its after lo has gone to bed for the night so it depends on how long that takes!

I'll compomise by eating with him on weekends when he likes to have take away etc.

No easy solution I'm afraid - maybe you could do yourself and bigger children a snack sized meal to eat with lo and perhaps do it as soon as poss after school as I know most children tend to have a snack then.

Or maybe feed children together at 5.30 and you and oh l8r? You never know you might even be able to get him to cook for you while you do the run of bedtimes!

Currently lo is taking a verrrry long time to get to bed (2hrs!) and so I know I need to get better organised too. I was woken 3 times in the night last night and spent most of the night downstairs again - oh is a very light sleeper so I can't sit and feed in the bedroom or try and see if ds will go back to sleep without a feed. I was so shattered this morning that I made my morning decaff with sugar - and I don't take sugar - I suppose I thought I was doing one for oh (who was at work by this time!)

OH wants to move lo into his own room but I'm not too keen - but then I'd co sleep if I had my own way (oh thinks we'll roll on baby so is very against co-sleeping).

    Sorry rambling now.

:T for baby charlotte - won't be long before she's walking.

Archie can now get around his whole bedroom by rolling - it's a marvel to watch....dread to think what he'll be like when he actually crawls....ds1 could climb the furniture at 8 mths (before he could walk even!) and ds2 looks like he's going to take after big brother.

Tom had his second set of immunisations yesterrday and really isn't himself. Apart from being clingy and miserable, he is so hot! I gave him calpol yesterday but it says only 2 doses in 24 hours.Any ideas?

You can give ibuprofen (Calprofen) from 3 months as well as paracetamol. If I'm trying to bring a fever down I usually give doses of ibuprofen halfway between the doses of paracetamol if you get my drift.

Edit to say that Izzy is quite a bit older though, so perhaps best to run it by the health visitor before doing that as I see your LO is only 4 months.

I do this too and have done since ds1 was small - I think hv advised me to do this more recently with ds2 but not sure how old he was (prob about 4 mths but baby brain has set in) so check with your HV but I'm sure it would work for you too. You just have to stick to stated doses for both medications.
