We never sterilised any weaning stuff and stopped sterilising bottles at around 10 months. Imogen is still alive & kicking so it can't have done her any harm!

JoJo - MW will have seen it all before. Call me thick, but why are you sterilising bottles if you are BF? Are you expressing a feed for OH to do?
Iris is a very pretty name.

September Baby - we did baby signing and loved it (although we weren't allowed to start until Imogen was more than 6 months old). Don't be impatient for baby to sign back though, it can take a while - although sounds like Michelle's LO is coming out with new ones all of the time. We just have 'milk' and 'all done', but her language is now coming on so fast I don't think she can see the benefit in signing.

    .

That was the plan! Never mind. Luckily the steriliser was a hand-me-down, the pump was a comp win, and bottles were mega-reduced, so not much cash gone up in flames. Will just have to shop around for replacements.

Have been feeling so emotional and teary today. Keep imagining horrible things happening to the baby and then freaking out and crying. I didn't like having all the windows wide open as I kept visualising tripping up and accidentally throwing Iris out of the window! I have been rooted to the sofa for much of the day cos I am so scared of having some sort of hideous accident.

Ds is just starting to do new ones now - and he's the same age as Imogen. Today he signed 'music' for the first time - I took the hint as he was standing looking at the cd player...lol.

He has very few words though -I try not to stress over this ( too much!):o

This will pass - honestly! She and you are both finding your feet, your hormones are haywire, and she is the centre of your existence at the moment.

I took mumomega oil capsules for the last trimester of my pg, and the first few months of being a mum- they help replace the essential oils your brain is deprived of by the pg.

Very cute Bailey, you've done well there :T
I like the one where they both have dummies, so adorable!

JoJoB, that is so normal. I hated those thoughts, but they passed quite quickly.
And then it's just occasional, such as hubby mentioning that J would benefit from having more body fat in case he got ill :mad:. Men! And I've made another one!

Js_Other_Half - you could've told me! I still can't spell my own name... I love how exasperated hubby is by my much limited vocab :D

    Hi jojob

I've done this too (imagined accidents and me doing stupid things etc) - I'm sure it's just our minds way of making us aware of the need to keep baby safe. It's just the hormones making you cry - if it's any consolation breastfeeding is said to promote happy hormones (and it seems to work with me) so it really won't last long the down time.

Bailey - thanks for posting pics, they are both extremely cute!

Awww - those pics are lovely Bailey.

Saw the dental specialist yesterday and he agreed my bad tooth is a mess and needs to come out. I'm getting it removed under anaesthetic on May 8th. Bit scared but looking forward to getting rid of the pain.

Husband saw the consultant about his knee yesterday too. They did an x-ray which showed up no fragments of bone, so the consultant thinks it is the cartledge that has gone. He's booking husband in for a MRI scan on his knee as that will show up more, and then possibly an op to have a camera in his knee depending on what the scan shows. He's marking the scan as urgent so hopefully he'll get an appointment in the next couple of weeks.
Here I go again on my own....

I think that's normal. When OH took Alice out in the car I was convinced they were both going to die in a car crash. I also found that if I thought of anything remotely sad while I was breastfeeding it would make me cry. I can't remember how long it lasted but I think it was about 2-4 weeks.

Bailey - those pictures are cute.

Dont know if its a help but I have a tommee tippee breast pump with the box etc that I am not using as LO is on bottles. TBH I probably only used the pump about half a dozen times... so if you wanted it let me know... you would have to get spare bottles but that may be a help...
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
