No bumps in the night here, yipee!
But she hasn't yet figured out she can get out of the bed by sliding down the side of the bed guard, so we woke up to her yelling as usual this morning. She's currently in bed for a nap, but not sure if she's staying there. We've put a couple of books and extra toys in her room so she can play. I'm happy if she's playing as long as she's quiet. I'm hoping this means she's getting at least some rest.
Michelle - pineapple and hot curries on the menu then? Perhaps a bit of bedroom activity? I was trying anything at that point!!
Dunelm Mill is a good tip, thanks. They've just opened a new one in Leeds so I'll make a trip. The covers are just sooooo expensive though. Think we'll wait until we are ready to put her in the other room before we go down that route.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Becles, I hope you get some results soon and find out what is going on x
Tss, hope you had a lovely night out! x
Hi Pozalina, as has been said, there is no list as such but feel free to ask away...I have learnt so much from these lovely ladies!
Lol, Agutka! I'm beginning to think I'm as mad as a box of frogs....but I did want another baby sooner rather than later (and who knew if would happen so quickly as, ahem, relations are obviously, ahem, not quite the same as pre Poppy, nudge nudge!) :rotfl:
Michelle, I don't have a job to go back to which I know will take the pressure off. Also, my family are absolutely fantastic with Poppy and I do have alot of support which I am extremely grateful for. Hope you are feeling well x
NEWSFLASH : Poppy has her first tooth!!! :jShe has been cranky all morning so, as a matter of routine, I checked and there it was! Its the bottom front right and it looks like the left one is not far behind. Its just broke the surface but clearly visible. How quickly will it grow now? I have given her some Ashton & Parsons powders but is there anything else I should be doing?

i'm really glad to hear you will get lots of support.
It is always the daft things that get me, like putting DS in the cot, or when he wants me to pick him up because he is too tired to go up the stairs. And picking toys up at the end of the day. Nappy changes have become quite demanding on my knees too, and that is when DS is quite a star and lies still and gets things out for me.
I have had to admit defeat and stop bathing him every night, and swap his grobag for a duvet. Can't see where the harm is though in taking a step back for a few weeks, as i can't be perfect. In fact, that is probably the best thing to accept as it will be a long time till i can get back into full normal routines i am expecting.
speaking of which, wonder how bailey is getting on.
Lu sex? What is that then? I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow at the minute, and sometimes before. Also, takes the glamour away when you are sleeping on a protective mat in case the waters break first like last time, which resembled niagra falls on a rainy day. Did find out a box of raspberry leaf tea today from last time, and had a cup of that.
I really do want it out the way now - i am so impatient and hate waiting for anything. Just want to get on now the maternity leave is started.
i'm sure my duvet cover was about a tenner and the matching pillow case was about £3 from dunelm. I'm too tight to spend much more.

Hi everyone sorry not been able to ready the posts to catch up and now just about to go to bed. I have some pics of Molly and Jack to post but unsure how to do it, any advice please?
Thanks,

Are milestones supposed to happen all at once? Every day J manages a new feat, rolling, nearly sitting, pulling himself up (it's getting complicated changing nappies now) all in the space of weeks. Today we were amazed when after a paddy for no reason he started rolling his tongue in a funny way and babbling Ba-ba and Da-Da!! Daddy was triumphant.
My mum told me the ages of 3-9 months are the best, so I am enjoying every minute of it. Ish
Hi My lo was born a week before yours and I feel the same - all of a sudden he is doing EVERYTHING!!! I feel like he will be off to uni and leaving home next week!!:rotfl:
I am like you and trying to enjoy everything cause all these new little things seem so big and they only do stuff for the first time once!:DSAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0 -

Hi girls
Started LO with a bit of baby rice today, he wasnt that impressed but then gave him a bit of apple puree and he didnt spit either of them out so its a start.
Question: I sterilised the spoons but do I need to sterilise the bowl as well?
Might look tomorrow for a couple of other things for him to try..making the baby rice is such a palarvar ie making up the milk and then mixing it with the rice, I wonder can I use the ready made milk with the rice?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Hi Bay, don't know the answer to your question other than I know people use a website called photobucket for what that's worth, but really just wanting to say hi as hadn't heard from you in such a long time was wondering how you were doing... and now just looked at your recent posts and only just noticed your one from earlier in the month saying that it was all going much better. Glad to hear that and hope it's all continuing to go ok.

Hi Mazcabs
I don't sterilize spoons or bowls - they go in the dishwasher. Milk stuff needs to be sterilized as milk is a breeding ground for horrible germs but I stopped doing the food stuff when ds hit 5 mths - my reasoning is that babies get lots worse in their mouths on a regular basis (including my pet hate which is grandma's and other relatives fingers  ).
However - not advocating you follow my lead - ds is bfed so figure he gets some immunity to baddies from me still anyway, might not be the same if yours is bottlefed.
Baby rice can be mixed with water, premix milk or breastmilk and I have even used apple juice (hipp) when out to make a flavoured variety. If you are mixing with formula it is easier to put the milk in dry and then add the correct
amount of water (cooled boiled) after.
My ds has graduated onto fruits and veg and I particularly like these
http://www.hipp.co.uk/products/1_Purely%20Fruits_Apple_Banana.html
I went to visit a friend a week ago and she pointed out that as you get 4 for about £1.50 they work out cheaper than fruit jars and it would be hard to make a meal from organic fruits as cheap (esp the one with mango). I do use the hipp organic veg jars too...but less often as it is relatively easy to cook up a few extra at the family meal and mash.
September baby - yep had a good night out - we went to TGI's and had many non alcoholic cocktails (driving/bfeeding to think about). yummy!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0
