congrats to sarah, us girlies must be a bit mad with all the baby dust flying round here.
By the time this little one arrives, DS will be 18 months old. Thought that was a pretty small gap.It seems a lot of people choose to have this sort of gap so it must be manageable. DH was telling me last night that his boss's wife is also pregnant again, their DD is 3 months younger than DS, so she will have 18 months between them too.
I guess by the time your little one arrives i may have a few tips to share about how to cope.
suzukibabe how did the thyroid tests go?
bailey hope you are feeling a bit better today.
hope the rest of you are well too. We have been struggling a bit here, DS has gastroenteritis which he has had for 21/2 weeks now, and still not fully recovered. We keep having to take time off work with him, which i feel really bad about as i only have a week and a half till maternity leave starts, and i am desperately trying to hang out till the end. I may end up needing to go a week early at the rate we are going.
I also feel a bit flu-ey myself. Full of cold, and really achey and exhausted. I am having really disturbed nights - not cos of DS, just the baby constantly moving and me feeling really stressed/panicky about work. I really have had enough now. 32 weeks for me tomorrow.
It will all pass though won't it, and hopefully as DS managed to eat toast today he might be on the mend.

First time I've logged in since the weekend, so congrats to everyone who needs congratulations and *hugs* to everyone who needs them!
I've been poorly in bed. I've had problems with a tooth which needs taking out but the dentist couldn't get it out last week. At the weekend the pain from it was unreal, and I was feverish and vomiting. I've got a nasty infection in it and my jaw is still swollen up and painful, but I'm not being sick and feverish now.
As I've been in bed for the last couple of days, hubby has had to do everything. Monday was bad, as Charlotte is teething and she had a grotty day where she just cries most of the time so she drove him up the wall! He also realised he hadn't a clue what normal routines here are. The boys didn't help by saying things like "that's not what Mam does"
It's made him realise that it's not a cushy number being home with the baby, and it is hard work.
Had to see the nurse this morning for a pill check up. Had a chat with her about stuff and she recommended me making an appointment with the doctor, so I'm seeing her on Tuesday. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Sorry to hear you've not been well but maybe in a way it's been a good thing as it's given your husband a taste of what you do.0

Thanks all.
Sorry for ranting off here. It's just hard and I needed to let it out.
I spoke to my uni tutor this afternoon and she is keen for me to continue the course. She said the workload is heavily ramped up at the start of the course but it eases off shortly and there is a break coming up for Easter which I could use to catch up. She advised thinking about it some more and talking about it at home to see if I can get more help with the baby to give me more study time. So I've got lots to think about.
Charlotte managed to stand up today. If you put her in a standing position against the coffee table, she holds on and stands up by herself. Have to stay behind her though as her legs give way after a minute and she sits back down again. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Do you mind if I ask a quick question??
My little one is 9 weeks old and occasionally has the odd nappy leak in the night. Can I use a waterproof mattress protector under neath the sheet?? Or at this age does he have to have a breathable matress??0 -

I'd be more inclined to look at the nappies that you're using. Sometimes they leak because the size isn't quite suited to your baby's shape (even if they meet the weight guidelines.)
Have you tried bigger sizes or a different brand? Tesco own-brand are cheap but I've always found them reliable personally. Huggies used to leak a lot on my eldest but I've found them fine with my baby this time around so it might be a case of trial and error to see which brands/sizes suit your baby best.
Sorry if that doesn't answer your original question - it just seems more practical to eliminate the leaking - obviously, it's a different kettle of fish if you're using reusables!(If you are, you could try a booster liner.)

Aw bless! :T :T
I trying to encourage Ben to start waving. We're really hamming up the waving goodbye but he just stares blankly as though we're a bit stupid!
He's such a lazy baby. He sits beautifully and has been doing for months but absolutely refuses to roll! He rolled three times on Halloween and hasn't done it since! It's bliss for me though - he can be left on the floor surrounded by toys and he can't go anywhere!0 -

Yeah we have tried all kinds. Huggies are worse than pampers but its his legs. He is CONSTANTLY and I mean CONSTANTLY moving them. All the time. He wriggles and moves his knees up and down and i think it moves his tail round to the side and thats what does it. (i remember those knees very clearly from when they were dancing about inside my tummy!)0
