Heather - Natasha has the V Tech baby walker that is in your avatar too - one of the bits on it (possibly the bit that looks like gears) makes a noise that sounds like a kiss, and when she hears it, she stands up and gives the dog (at the top left) a kiss!0

Hi there
HF finally asleep for a nap but not sure for how long. Does anyone else's baby cat nap alot. Can't seem to get HF to nap for longer than 20 minutes at a time and then he gets overtired at night. He then only sleeps for about 4-5 hours before wanting a feed and then wakes up again after 2 hours and is wide awake. How can he survive on such small amounts sleep? Any tips ?
Also he's 3 months old so should i change onto medium flow teats ? Anyone else done this ?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Hello & welcome all newbies! Feel free to ask or contribute as you want.
Re teats - I would move on to a faster flow teat and look at how much babe is having. There's no such thing as an 'average' baby (as per the guidelines on the tin) so if LO is finishing every bottle just offer some more and see if that helps. You can always go back to the slower flow teats if medium is too much. HTH
Imogen's new words are Daddy (for me and Hubby!) and dooby - not sure about what that means yet! Also cat - for Cat In The Hat. She just never stops babbling! I had a flick through the 'contented baby' book recently and discovered that Joseph was kind of following the easy technique (eat play sleep or eat sleep play, with proper night sleep). Yes I am very lucky. But he has gone through catnap stages before. You put them down and they're back up before you've even managed to leave the room:rolleyes:
On his third month 'birthday' I gave him a bottle with the '3' teat and proceeded to choke him with the milk. It was too much, HV suggested leaving him be, until he's struggling to get milk out. Have a go yourself.:wall:0 -

God bless the fisherprice cradle swing - it was the only reason we got any sleep for a good part of the first 3 months of DS's life...lol. I found he got better as he got older - probably because was was putting on weight and able to last longer sleeping. By 5 months he was sleeping through from 11pm - 7pm. Fingers crossed the same happens for your DS.
As for the teats - no harm in trying them? The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Hi Everyone,
Sorry not been around for a while I'm trying to work out an evening routine out for me now that I'm back at work (Boo!).
Katie is cruising like a professional and has been for a couple of weeks, actually she hates sitting on the floor and wants to be on her feet all the time. This week she finally started to figure out crawling too!
Tonight she was shouting me instead of being asleep, and she was sat up in her cot with her legs through the bars! First job on DH's list this weekend is to lower the base on her cot as she can pull herself up.Proud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it
dreams do come true (eventually!)0
