Since Boxing Day we've been using reins on Jack when he walks outside, he is fine with this and is often seen smiling and giggling as we go out for a walk.
For those with older children I was just wondering at what age you stopped using the reins as your child was safe to walk free. I have also been given a wrist strap which I could use when he is older and can walk without tripping at every curb and dip in the paveament.
I'm just curious really as to what to expect. At the moment he needs the reins to stop him falling over, he can get carried away walking faster and faster and then fall, plus of course he has no concept of roads, danger and just wants to go in every direction.0 -

Seriously though, I think we used the reins for a few months - can't rememer how long exactly, but it wasn't an excessively long time. You'll see when he's ready to stop, although I do remember using them at really busy places like airports etc after we stopped using them normally, IYSWIM, so you'll need them for a while yet.
And it's only now at 4 that he's become reasonably aware of roads and traffic, so up until this age you need eyes at the back of your head when out and about. :rolleyes:0 -
Natasha seems to take ages to get rid of colds. The 'very ill' stage only lasts a few days, but the coughing, snotty, cranky stage seems to go on for about 3 weeks afterwards.
I think it doesn't help when babies can't cough up mucus and stuff, so it sort of makes things worse when the gunk just goes up and down their noses and throats all the time. Nice.
Alex has had a cold for almost 3 weeks now and is only just starting to get better. He's quite a happy little guy, but he wakes a lot with coughing and spluttering when he's got a cold, and last night was quite a good night so I'm hoping he's on the mend (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc - I want more good sleeps!)

It's horrible when little ones aren't well, Adam is all snuffly and it seems to get worse of a night time.
We used reins with Jamie, can't remember how long for tho, he's 4 now and if he's walking ahead of us he knows to stop before the kerb and he either holds onto the handle of the buggy or one of our hands. Saying that, there was a child of about 10 yrs old at the weekend who ran straight out in front of our car without looking, he got shouted at from his mum and his mum got a few choice words off me.If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

Heather - Natasha has the V Tech baby walker that is in your avatar too - one of the bits on it (possibly the bit that looks like gears) makes a noise that sounds like a kiss, and when she hears it, she stands up and gives the dog (at the top left) a kiss!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

It was only a couple of days I think, if you've dropped the feeds gradually.
But I don't think they ever return to 'normal'. Mine look like triangles when I've no bra on and lean over. OH says he can't see a difference but I think he's lying! I've been promised a boob job when I've had #2. I've heard about one where they suck fat out of you (sorry if TMI) then inject it into your boobs. Now that's an MSE boob job, BOGOF!! :money: :money:
Seriously though, not sure if I'll really go through with it and at least they are bigger now than before I go pregnant, if in need of rather more support to 'present' them properly :rotfl: :rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
