  • Congratulations Heather!
  • Being a mummy to Natasha is the best thing to have ever happened to me but i still cant quite beleive that i have a baby and at the same time feel as though she has been with us forever.

I could have written that, Ella! Its wonderful, isn't it? I still can't believe that I'm a Mummy (and Poppy is 17 weeks tomorrow!). A few nights ago I was rocking her in my glider listening to David Grey CD...and I was nearly in tears thinking about how lucky I am :o.

    PS: Natasha looks adorable!

  • I bought some Aptimil Stage 1 whilst in Tesco today. Came home and showed DH and was slightly unsure of how he would react. I half thought he would think that I am already setting myself up to fail with bf if i'm buying formula. But he actually didn't say that at all, which was nice. I just explained that I thought it would be unrealistic to get through 6 months without a single bottle, even if we give the odd night one. And the last thing I want is a crying newborn on my hands who I can't satisfy and it being 3am in the morning. I've decided to play safe.

I'll definitely give bf another go but i feel better knowing I have a tub of formula if we need it. You just know its always going to be in the middle of the night when everything is closed (no 24 hour supermarkets around here).
  • Thanks Septemberbaby and Snaggles she is just so amazing, everything is - i have fallen in love and have a purpose.

I loved the name's Natasha and Grace right from the start and loved them even more together - it was our only choice so we named her Natasha Grace at the 20 week scan :D but your right, its a great name!!

Awwww, she's gorgeous - you're welcome to post pics!

I am starting to feel a bit spooked though, because Natasha Grace was our only choice too, and we named her in the car park after....you guessed it.....our 20 week scan!!!

I was just looking back at pictures of Charlotte this evening and she's changed loads over 9 months. Make sure you take plenty of pictures to keep a record of what she looked like!
Here I go again on my own....
  • Hello there, I'm new on this board although I use MSE religiously - and I have been reading through some posts. You sound like a nice bunch!

I have a baby who is nearly seven months old. I have been very lucky in that everything has been very easy and he is a good boy. I only have one little niggle at the moment that you might be able to help me with.

DS is breastfed and is well underway with weaning, and will eat anything I prepare. He has a whizzed up version of our meal, plus I like to give him chunkier pieces of food to eat, plus he has a booby after each meal and before bed. So I think he has a nice varied diet. My problem is that he doesn't want to drink much water or juice, anything like that. He drinks lovely out of a doidy cup (no lid) but only small amounts. Like literally a few sips.

Do you think this is ok? Any help appreciated!

Hiya - if he's being breastfed after each meal, he's probably just not very thirsty. I think formula fed babies need other drinks, but breastfed babies tend not to as much. If he's having plenty of wet nappies, it's unlikely he will be getting dehydrated.

My daughter is just a few weeks older thank your baby, and we struggle to get her to drink anything that doesn't come from me too, but I have recently dropped one breastfeed per day (she still has 3), and suddenly she is drinking more water/juice.

It sounds like you are doing great, and if your baby seems happy and healthy, I wouldn't worry.
