Hi hobo,
we make all our bottles once a day and leave them on the side until needed,
we were warming the bottles with a jug of hot water to start with but have now got Daniel used to having his feed at room temp,
i highly recommend it... its MUCH quicker and easier... and stops all the hassle about needing to warm up feeds when your out.
as far as the sick thing goes, the amount babies throw up can be very deceptive... you think it must be almost a whole feed when really it wont be anything like that much,
as long as your baby is putting on weight every week the sick is most likely within normal limits (just annoying for you!)
it might slow down or stop all together as your babe gets a little older... the newborn digestive system has an awful lot to get used too and she is still very young,
just dont forget your muslin cloths when your feeding!!
good luck0 -
I make up all the bottles fresh. If the kettle has been boiled within the last hour or so, I just use the water straight from it. If not, I boil it up and cool it back down in a jug of cold water. Charlotte would only have warm milk at first, but she'll drink it at room temp now.
Probably best to try everyones methods and see which one you find easiest.
I've got some exciting news! Can you remember the Huggies baby competition link that I posted on here back in December?
Had an email to say that Charlotte has made the shortlist of 12 babies from the thousands that entered. Big thank you to everyone who voted for her.
The official judges are meeting tomorrow to decide the final 3 from the 12, and the 3 go for an official photoshoot in London.
We've also won a years supply of Huggies for making the shortlist and I'm really excited about that too :jHere I go again on my own....0 -

Wow Becles, that's fabulous news :T:T:T:j:j:j0 -
Some babies are just sicky so may not be the formula - I was breastfed and my mum said I was a very sicky baby.0

Congrats, Becles & Charlotte!!! :j How much of a proud mommy are you?!
Very best of luck for the finals (and very MSE winning a whole years supply of Huggies!) x
Talking of nappies, my sisters have bought me a few packs of Pampers (at the 1/3rd off sale in Sainsbury) but they are 'Baby-Dry' and in a different coloured darker green pack than I normally buy (plus there is 10 extra in each one). Does anyone know the difference? Are they just old stock? After 14 weeks of baby I thought I knew it all :rotfl:

We do the same as heather38 and CG, we make the bottles up with water and just add formula when little man's hungry, and he has no problem taking his feeds at room temp.If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight0 -
Becles, fantastic news re: nappies, and wow how great that Charlotte is through to the final 12, how proud you must be.
I've had some success with hayden's sleeping (touch wood) this week. He is only waking at 2.30am ish having a feed and going back down 'til 7am ish.
Also lost the 3lb to get me back to goal weight when I weighed today.
Take it easy and have a good week.

We sterilised bottles all at once in the evening, then put them all together with boiled water in then stand them on the side to cool over night. We then added formula at feed time and warmed them in a jug of warm water (if we bothered). Also recommend doing room temp bottles - big advantage.
Congrats Becles & Charlotte :T :T Keeping everything crossed!!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Cogratulations Becles. :T Do they give you a years supply all at once? That would be a lot of nappies. :eek:0
