Eveing all,
Bit worried - DD is 7 weeks old, and have been BFing - with the occasional formula feed (no more than 2 a day.
Untill this week, when I've been intergrating more formula feeds.
And now we have a slightly worrying poo issue.(sorry TMI moment coming up)
She went 3 days without anything, then 2 tiny ones, then 1 huge poo this evening...but now it's no longer the puree consistency we're used to, it's now like plasterscene (sp?). Plus there was a little blood.....
Is it due to her chnge in diet? Is this normal? Should I take her to Dr's? AM I worrying for nowt?
All advice accepted!!!

MrsW82 if you are at all concerned then phone nhs direct.
However, formula fed babies poo is a different consistency to b/f babies and this might be what you are experiencing.

Have just googled solid baby poo...no really!:rotfl:
I found some reassuring info, and other mothers asking the same thing/personal experiences of it!
I also discovered something called the "Bristol Stool Scale".....
(12 months ago if you'd have told me I'd be online discussing and reserching poo, I'd have said you were mad...It's all too "normal now, whatever that is!)

Will still keep an eye on it though!0 -

I spoke to the lady yesterday, and they were busy deciding if they would send actual nappies or vouchers.
I think I'd prefer vouchers, as they are much easier to store. How would they know which sizes I'm going to need for the year too? Nobody can tell how fast she is going to grow! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Congratulations Becles!! :T (and Charlotte :T)
I hope they send vouchers, it would be much easier.
Just thought it was worth mentioning I asked in Asda yesterday and you can use any vouchers, even for products you haven't bought, up to 10% of your shopping bill, so you might not even have to just buy nappies with them. :shhh:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Congratulations, Becles :j :j :j :j0

Hi All,
Just wanted to ask if anyone's baby had jaundice for more than 10 days?
The midwife has been this morning and she says she is really pleased with how me and Taylor are doing, and she's discharged me, but she wants to come in 4 days as Taylor is still jaundiced. She said if it hasn't gone by then, he'll have to go to the hospital to see a paediatrician.
Has anyone else had this?
Is there anything I can do to help it go?
Thanks

Adam had jaundice for around 2 1/2 weeks and kept having the heel !!!!! test to check his levels but MW said that prem/low birth weight babies tend to have it longer.
Speaking of MW's, ours has just visited and weighed Adam who is now 6lbs 1oz, and has been discharged from the neonatal outreach team :j :j
Tiny baby clothes are now too small for him and newborn clothes are just a teensy bit big.
Had a phonecall from the hospital too about the blood test Adam had on Monday to re-check his thyroid, and the level has gone up, but it can't be that bad as the consultant is quite happy to wait until our appointment early Feb.
Hope everyone and babies are ok xxIf everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

My OH had persistant neonatal jaundice which was investigated over a couple of months I think. It *can* be sign of a number of problems which they should check for but if all the tests come back negative then it's just unexplained. OH was put onto formula for three days but I don't think they do that any more.0
