Hiya
Been staying away because with the cracked nipples / supply issues, I just haven't been up to much.
Anyway, my nipples are still cracked, but not quite so sore, and although I have seen numerous people, and tweaked my technique, things seem to have improved, although I still don't know what I was doing wrong. I just hope that I don't jinx myself by saying things seem better.
Regarding my supply levels, I think it all boiled down to stress. I took Sam to bed with me for a day and fed and fed her (and cried and cried because it was so sore), but my levels are definitely up and she gained again this week. She now weighs 9lb15 1/2oz, or in my language 4.52kgs.
Talking about poos - well Samantha being BF only does one every 3 / 4 days, but boy when it comes, it is huge and massive, and goes everywhere  , honestly don't know what is worse a huge poo or lots of little ones :rotfl: .
I put Samantha in front of the Xmas tree this morning, and she seemed really interested in the lights - well at least it made her stop crying ... for a whole minute, that was ...0 -
izoomzoom - I'm beginning to wonder if some babies just do make you sore. I would say I'm a fairly experienced breastfeeder (have done 18 months of it in total), and I'm still having niggling problems with feeding Natasha. I'm sure she's latching on properly, I've even fed her in front of the HV to check.
And I've tried every position under the sun. She has a vicious 'suck' though!
Gritting my teeth and thinking about the price of formula spurs me on....lol!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Samantha has a vicious suck too - made two of my fingers numb yesterday  so can't imagine how my boobs would have felt if I had let her loose on them :rotfl:0 -
I've always heard that for you first normal period after the birth (not the main bleed) you should wear pads only.
I'm sorry to intrude on the thread...I had my 4th boy in January and used to post on the pregnancy thread but I've just lurked on this one....I have lots to discuss but never seem to get the time to linger and generally post!"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view...
until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it"

Hi Julie and welcome
Lol, completely contradicts what my hv said, it's so hard to get any consistent advice from these medical types! No wonder we all get confused. Oh well, I followed her advice and used tampons, no problems here.0 -
Hi all
Seems ages since I posted on the forum as just dont have the time with Henry for sme reason.
Anyway, quick question, using formula full time now, sometimes powder and sometimes ready made but have noticed lately that the teats on the bottles seem to be going yellowy. Is this from the formula, constant sterilising or from using Milton which I do for convinience as well and is this totally normal ? I do wash the bottles throughly after each use although sometimes if its a feed in the night then I may leave the bottle till then so could that be the cause. Started to think that I may need to buy some new ones soon.....any advice ?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Do you ever wash them in a dishwasher? That makes them go yellow. And white rings go orangey - especially if you like tomato based sauces :rotfl:0 -
Hi Mazcabs & welcome Julie
Our teats went yellow after a while and we used a steam steriliser. Apparently they just do. You're meant to replace them every so many months but this could just be the manufacturers making extra cash from us. I think we just waited until Imogen went up a size each time. I've got silicone teats and they have stayed clear. They were on the bottles when I bought them and they have an anti-colic valve in. Although Charlotte has outgrown the colic now, I stuck with the same teats just in case!
Charlotte has been very interested in her feet over the last couple of days. I normally let her roll around on the changing mat in the nuddy for five minutes before she goes in the bath. She spends the time playing with her toes and feet and sucking them now! Here I go again on my own....0
