we got cellular blankets in matalan, but we use grow bags as well and the blankets get used in the pram or the car seat.

Not sure CG sorry - Tasha just kicks hers off so we gave up and bought grobags.

I've just bought some of them to solve a problem and they are great.

Charlotte goes to bed "feet to foot" but when she wakes up, she uses her feet on the cot bars to turn herself so she's "head to foot" then pulls the blankets over her head
Here I go again on my own....

Yep, Tasha would prefer to sleep with a cover over her head and nothing over the rest of her if I let her!! I'm sure they do it on purpose, just to stress us out! :)

TK Max have had some Gro-Bags in recently, depends which store you go in though. I got a 12-24 month one for Imogen for £14.99 instead of £25. I've also had them from Sainsbury's and have seen them in Asda. They tend to be the thinner ones though, more suitable for summer.

We only had 2 moses blankets and 1 cot blanket for ages. They just got rotated. I still use the moses basket size ones to cover her over, they're plenty big enough.

Good luck for tomorrow CG. Hope you don't mind me giving you some advice - I'm sure the others will have some to add if you want.

The best piece of advice I was given about a c-section was to get up and about asap. This meant I walked to the loo (with some help!) at 4am after having my c-section at 11.15pm. It does hurt, but I was soon up and about. Don't get me wrong, you need plenty of rest, but do try to move around.

Also, I wish someone had told me how long it takes to stitch you up afterwards. Imogen was out within minutes, but it took 50mins to get me out to the recovery room. I asked the surgeon whether he was doing embroidery down there!!

Look forward to seeing piccies of your beautiful baby boy soon!:T

Lu, I left exactly the same piece of advice on the pregnancy thread for CG about getting up asap. I'm absolutely certain that really helped me recover both times.

Also I recommended taking all the painkillers on offer and not to be tempted to think that you've recovered too soon as when you stop taking them every however many hours it is, you soon discover how effective they are!!!

Anyway, look forward to seeing CG on this thread soon... good luck!!

It's my birthday today but Isabel didn't read the script and had me up for 3 hours in the night. Not sure whether she's not sleeping because she's teething, having some sort of reaction to her hib jab on Monday or going down the latest cold that DD1 has brought in. DH and I are going out for a curry tonight and my mum's babysitting, so I expect she'll be more hands on tonight than she's probably anticipating. She's not having them overnight though, just while we're out, so I expect I'm in for another rough ride tonight. Added to the fact that I've had texts and facebook messages from friends today saying they forgot it was my bday - so this morning's post consisted of only one card from SIL and a rejection letter for a job I applied for that I am easily qualified for but didn't even manage to get an interview for, it's not feeling like much of a special day!! Ahhhh, get the violins out, feeling a bit sorry for myself I guess:o

We use sleeping bags too, much easier than blankets. Tesco do them for like £10. :money:

I do tend to use blankets for naps though, and have bought cellular ones from Boots. They're not cheap there either, but they had 20% off baby stuff at the time, plus I've accumulated tons of Boots points so paid with them.

Good luck for tomorrow CG, bet you can't wait to see Danny :j

Mmmm, neither of my two ever slept under blankets because they wriggled out of them within seconds. I put them in grobags and they move around the cot throughout the night, head up one end one minute and down the other the next.

Saying that, I've found that Olivia even at 4 is still totally unable to stay under a duvet - has anyone else found that with their children that used grobags? If so, have they ever grown out of it?!?! Even if I tuck the duvet in, she still wriggles free!!

Yeah, my previously grobagged DS1, who's 4 as well, never really stays under the duvet properly. Not sure whether it's due to the bags or what... He actually sweats a lot at night :o (I'm dreading what he'll be like as a teenager!!! ) so I assumed that's why he wriggles out.
  • :bdaycake: Here's another birthday cake. Some of my friends used to think my birthday was May instead of March so I used to end up with an extended birthday. Hope your day gets better. If it makes you feel any better, I applied for around 100 jobs after university and had about 10 interviews before I got a job. My friends think I'm joking when I tell them that especially as I couldn't even get a shop job despite having managed the college shop while I was a student.
