Well he fell asleep quite quickly - perhaps something to do with the new cot toy (an aquarium thingie with fish and bubbles - was a present for DS1 but was never used).
I'm a bit sad - he's growing up so fast. Exactly two months old today.0 -
I've put my baby in a cot in his own room for the first time tonight!
We've been co-sleeping since birth as I'm breastfeeding and he didn't settle in his moses basket. He's sleeping for longer now - he went from 10pm to 5am last night- so I'm trying him in his own room to see how he gets on!
I've already had to check on him twice to make sure he's okay!My OH is away tonight so it'll be really strange to have the whole bed to myself. Bet I won't be able to sleep!
We just got back from visiting the in laws on Saturday night and it was only 14 degrees in Alice's room so OH decided to check she was okay. He gave me such a shock as he couldn't hear her breathing and shouted to me. Gave me such a fright but when I put my fingers near her mouth and nose she did a huge sigh.Charlotte gave me a kiss last night
We were looking in the bathroom mirror and pulling faces at our reflections (as you do!), and I kept kissing her cheek. Then she turned and kissed my cheek. I got that that warm fuzzy feeling when she did it :j0 -
DD does the whole open mouth kiss too or she licks your face.
bit disgusting atm as she has a runny nose so i get covered in snot as well.
nice!!0 -
Izzy fell down the stairs this weekend:o:o:o
Somebody must have left the gate open at the bottom of the stairs. DH and I were watching TV and suddenly we heard this almighty bumping noise followed by the gate banging followed by screaming.
She got over it very quickly and has a bruise on her forehead where she must have hit the gate on the way down. I dread to think how far she climbed before she fell but it must have been quite a way from the sound of all the bumps.
I felt so sick afterwards. You'd have thought we'd have learnt our lesson after Olivia falling down them when she was toddling, but seems not :rolleyes::rolleyes: Now trying to be extra vigilant about shutting the gates.0 -
hi all not sure is i have posted before to introduce myself as the last month is bit of a blur!
i have a one month old baby girl, phoebe, and was a regular poster on the preggy club thread.:D
just wanted to ask about sleeping habits of month old babies - maybe a bit out of the norm but wandering if phoebe sleeps too much?!!?:o
she is breastfeeding and falls asleep feeding, she sleeps most of the clock around only waking to be fed and changed, might be awake for total of 5 hours in a day - 24 hours. am i being neurotic cos i keep thinking she sleeps too much or am i just lucky or is this normal?0 -
Hi Emma B
Remember you from the pregnancy thread, you were having a rough time of it when I last posted so glad you've finally got your little bundle of joy. Lovely name BTW.
Her sleeping sounds perfectly normal to me, especially for the first 6-8 weeks. You may well be lucky and it probably won't last, so get your rest while you can!
When Imogen fell asleep while feeding I used to stroke her cheek or give her a little squeeze (like a cuddle) to get her to start feeding again. She dream fed quite well (feeding while asleep) so we were quite lucky.

Think it was even earlier than that. Imogen is 10 months next week and I haven't really been on the pregnancy forum for that amount of time. Were you having extra scans or problems when you were TTC?
I have sympathy with the long labour, mine was on and off for 5 days  , then 17 hours established labour  little beggar! But she too is a chilled out baby. Fingers crossed we've done our time then eh;)MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Babies vary as to how much sleep they need. As long as she's feeding enough then I wouldn't have thought it would be an issue to worry about. You've reminded me of what one of my baby books says. It was something along the lines of, "The books used to say that a newborn baby slept for about 18 hours a day and only woke up for feeding. Unfortunately many babies hadn't read the books."0
