Hi all, I'm relatively new here. My only child, Jessica has just turned one  can't believe it! And I was after a little advice re. bottles/milk etc. Oh and I've just become familiar with the pad-pad-pad noise too!
I've switched her onto a mixture of cows milk and formula which she readily accepts from a bottle, no bother. My problem is... my own fault I think, a) she WILL not settle in bed without her bottle (but sleeps 7 til 8 through the night, has done since she was 6 weeks), i.e. I take it from her when she drops off and b) I cannot get her to use a cup/beaker, she really struggles. It just goes everywhere, this has been going on for weeks! How hard do I need to try re. the cup thing? Never give her her milk in a bottle again? And as for the bedtime bottle bit, shall I stop feeding her in her bedroom completely? Dug myself bit of a hole!
Any help appreciated. K xx
Hi molezak, welcome to the club
I'm probably going to have the same problem as you as Izzy won't drink from a cup either, just wants to play with it  There's some stuff on the us babycenter site here though that might be worth a read. I'd say don't stress about it as they will be ready one day, just because the HV advice is to do stuff by such and such a time, I learnt from bitter experience with DD1 that sometimes it is just not worth the frustration and to just go with the flow. They all get there in the end. I think the thing with bottles is that they can harm the development of teeth, cause tooth decay etc so obviously there is that to bear in mind.0 -

With my two the sonographer seemed quite sure both time, but pointed out that it could never be 100%, so both times I duly went off to hospital with my plain white babygros0 -
DD1 has been nothing but rude and obnoxious and even tried to hit & kick me yesterday, at school she is really well behaved generally. I am at aloss at times as she always wants my attention when Hayden needs feed and that's when the agressive type of behaviour begins, DD2 has wet herself a couple of times this week which i don't know whether is attention seeking or because she is not 100%. Oh well off to give the youngest two a bit of my time.
Jen
Hi Jen, Olivia is being much the same at the moment.... positively evil. She started reception in September and is steadily getting more and more exhausted. Every morning this week I've had to wake her up and she's like a teenager wanting to stay in bed and being totally obnoxious with me. From the moment I pick her up from school she is being vile to me. She'd been brilliant with Isabel - I was only posting on here a few weeks back saying so, but now she is starting to get possessive with her toys, probably as Iz is starting to show real interest in them. Like your DD, she is apparently a little angel at school, very quiet and well behaved.
So, if it's any consolation, I'm tearing my hair out too, can't really offer any advice. Let's hope it's just a passing phase and it's the starting school thing that is making them tired and irritable. [Where's the fingers crossed smiley??]0 -
A quick post from me to say the scan went well. There was only one baby in there, which we are pretty sure about as it was moving around so much i think there is very little chance there was anywhere left to hide.
All looks well, but they didn't have any answers for the sickiness i am afraid, although she thinks it will probably peak this week. (get the feeling that was just to make me feel a bit better psychologically.)
So, if i am no better after the weekend i will be making a drs appointment for a sicknote.
anyway - off now for a pub lunch....
see you all later0 -
thanks purple patch, I know it's not just me but it's awful. Just had lunch at friends and as we were leaving she went to hit me again, 5 mins on stairs and no treats for the weekend now, but back to nice Poppy now, promised I'll play dolls with her so off to do that now.
cha97michelle, glad scan went well, hope sickness calms soon, mine was terrible with girls (until 20weeks ish) but Hayden only lasted few weeks. Hope you have a good day, take care.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Bailey and Michelle - glad to hear your scans went well.
I'm absolutely knackered - DS1 doesn't go to nursery on Fridays so had him all day today, and we've been out most of the day. All that fresh air will hopefully mean they're both pooped as well and should hopefully sleep well. All is quiet upstairs anyway.
Alex was having really good sleeps the last few nights, but last night was up three times again. Here's hoping tonight will be better - I was really getting my hopes up about just the one feed.
Have a nice weekend, all0 -

Hi dollop, it's normal. I had them too - I think it's more to do with the hormones returning to normal. It's revolting isn't it - I think mine lasted a week or so, kept waking up drenched...Off to google it now.
Edit - not found much but others complaining of the same thing here. Like the OP I didn't get it with DD1 only DD2.0 -

Lol, lack of sleep, I know that well. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done, but it's bound to be those bloody hormones.0
