Kazzaw - What fantastic news. All the very best wishes to you, mum and babe x Good to see you posting again.

BB - Yeuch! Keep away from him and don't catch it!!

Dazi - I find ants hate washing up liquid. I drizzle some around where they are entering the house, e.g. around the outside of the door step, to create a barrier.

    Kezzaw 11lb :eek::eek: big congratulations
    Gers Have a good holiday
Sistercas we did ours on Sunday, it must be much smaller as it only takes a day but I love it when its all neat and even OCD or what:rotfl:

The rhubarb crumble cake was delish last night, had it with ice cream.
BB I am also trying to have a healthy eating day today so no baking.
Tea tonight will be Garlic chicken, chorizo and roast potatoes with salad from the garden, I will have crackers with jam for brekkie and houmus for lunch.
DS3 will go and visit his gran today as he normally goes for tea after school on Tuesdays and she misses him if he doesn't go and DS2 is working from home in the office today.
Silvermaid its also a bit overcast here but going to risk the washing on the line, fingers crossed.

Saw a teaching job I want to apply for yesterday but since I have had my computer fixed Microsoft Office has gone and I can't fill the blooming application form in on the laptop, so will get DS2 on the case who is a computer wizz.

Off to peg the washing out, ttfn J x

    Morning all,

Think we had our summer yesterday, its pouring with rain here, getting fed up with this, was going to give the towels a good wash today but they will have to wait another few days.

Yesterday dd and I went to the local garden centre, and I got 2 x passion flowers for £2 each because they were a bit straggly, I put then in as soon as I got home and gave them a good water, hopefully they will take, I have one up each shed. We also sat and had a cuppa in the gardens there, twas beautiful in the sunshine :T:T

Dinner today is a bit of brisket, think I might do a roast, seeing as the weather is bad, got some bread soaking too for a bread pudding, will cook that at the same time.

Office work to do this morning, and a general tidy through, although dd can help with that.

Julie, could you point me in the direction of your rhubarb cake recipe ?? sounds delish x

Squiggly, hey you :jwelcome back, nice to see you posting xx

Kazzaw awww congrats :D but 11lb  :D

Gers, have a good trip xx

    Have good days all xxx

Bit grey here but dry. My lovely neighbour fixed my loo yesterday and saved me a fortune bless him :A. Had a lovely couple of hours down the beach, no crabs but loads of shrimps and starfish. Also did some sanding, have discovered an orbital sander that ExOH left which is great.

Plans today is to carry on sanding. DS has a mate coming round today. Tea is sausages, had the chicken last night.

    EMPY welcome
KAZZY ouch! congratulations to you all
    SQUIGGLY welcome back

    Morning :hello:

Congrats to the Kazzaw family :j

I've been MIA, but I'm back with a vengeance ;)

Not a good start to the day, I woke up at 4.30am, had a cuppa and fell asleep on the sofa. Woke up at 9am, still haven't got dressed yet.

The house is a mess, we've been painting (still not finished) and everything has been shifted around.

Had a huge row with master tru, he declared that the reason I get so wound up with him is because I don't leave the house enough. Obviously if I went out more, the week's worth of dirty dishes and the pile of used-once wet towels in his room wouldn't bother me at all. Anyway, it's not as if I do much, just run the hoover round once a week.

Mr tru doesn't say much about it, tells him to stop and that's about it. I can't help thinking he agrees with him.

So, from now on I'm going to "run the hoover round once a week". And that's it. I'll keep my own towel, and won't wash theirs. I'll only do my own washing up. I'll just clean the bit of the cooker that I use.

    :D

I have lots of books I haven't read, and recorded progams I haven't watched. Looks like I have time to do both now :)

    Good morning

I walked the legs off the small person yesterday (not literally, but he did ask to go to bed at 8pm) and then he went sailing in the evening so we're having an easy day today. Just going to our local (very small) town to buy some wool for a few knitted toys and possibly doing the Asda run too. It's a day early, but may as well do it while we're out.

This afternoon we will be making a birthday cake for a friend's birthday tomorrow. We used to buy the themed cakes from the supermarket until I discovered that home made ones were eaten much faster. I am not a genius in the kitchen, nor gifted at decorating, but I haven't had any failures yet. The children enjoy helping, and eating their own weight in cake mix too :rotfl:

The house elf had a fabulous school report. It also said that he is a kind boy who is good with children who are upset, and he has brought the gift of friendship to his class. I am glad that his experiences in his short life so far have taught him empathy rather than self pity.

    Kazza 11lb! Congratulations, but ouchies!

HH Mothballs keep cats away. They give your garden a slightly strange but not unpleasant small and Wilkinsons sell them.

    Take care all of you

Just a quick Good Morning from me.

Off to Donny, Jayward is coming over to have a roam around the market.

Were going to take our old car back to the garage as something still not OK, but the battery was flat, so that is now on the list for tomorrow.

Catch up later, Just wanted to send ((hugs)) to all. Take care. DG

p.s. The £world had some pellets to scatter to keep cats and dogs off for £1, much dearer elsewhere for same brand.

  • Morning all

Had a lie in this morning due to the fact that DH kept me awake from 4.30 this morning until 6am snoring  so I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 8.30am.
We had rain overnight but it is dry here if not a bit grey today.
Plans for today are to clean the rabbit and hamster out and give the hall a good tidy, I think my lot have forgotten that we have a shoe cupboard and coat rack

Dinner tonight is chicken and salad with new potatoes from the garden and home made coleslaw.
Neighbour brought me a big bag of plums last night so I shall freeze some today and make a few jars of jam as well.

    Have a good break Gers:beer:
Kazzaw:T congrats on being a Nan again 11lb:eek: makes my eyes water.

    Well best get on

    have good days all x

    Morning all.

One of those weeks when I keep meeting myself coming back. A load of writing to be done before Friday, cooking ready for church 'do' on Saturday, DS1's marriage has just broken down and he requires a few hours each day on the phone, DS2 and family are holidaying in a caravan very close and want me to share their fun, the house and garden are both in crisis and WHERE IS FLYLADY WHEN YOU NEED HER?
Will try to catch up next week but for the moment am off to sob in a dark corner.
Would just like to remind everybody that I am RETIRED.
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.
