The thought that Toss...co's might be selling goods for less in, eg, Scotland, in order to drive out smaller businesses and thereby offer themselves as the only option is scandalous
Re the peanut butter thing, this brings us back to what I posted yesterday , and what was also posted by a scottish lady on the OS thread.
Am I being thick or, having reported this yesterday, Toss...co are still selling stuff in Scotland at a much cheaper price?? I get the 52P price too, I'm in the SE.*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Where I am ( Fife) the 18p rice, peanut butter, muesli etc are all back up to the price Tesco are charging in England. Same with the Mermaid tuna fish which was 19p a tin for a short spell.0

I didn't have time to check basic food prices when I was in Dunfermline this weekend, but I can confirm that T*sco charged me 4p a litre LESS for Diesel there on Sunday than the price they had up at our local branch yesterday. (I'm in West London.)
I've not really noticed food or grocery price differentials between T*sco branches in my travels up/down the country (I've done a lot of travel for work) but I have noticed their petrol/diesel prices are always more expensive in London. Even the T*sco in Reading is usually cheaper to fill up in than our local one.

PS: I've spent so much time travelling down the A1, that I know the Sainsbury near Biggleswade puts its petrol prices up between 3.30 and 4pm on Fridays. Just in time to catch the weekend rush."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

I think that one underlying worry, though, as I understand it, is that Toss...co selling stuff at such low prices and thereby undercutting the local Scottish 'traditional' suppliers, could eventually lead to these local suppliers closing down as they cannot compete.
So, in effect, Toss...co could drive out the competition and then raise prices... probably back to the same as the 'traditional' local suppliers were charging in the first place!!
Scottish posters (and others who don't want local shops replaced by supermarkets) - is this the concern?*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

This is the concern (yes I am a Scottish poster), I have an online delivery due shortly (not been out due to bereavement) so it will be interesting to see what they actually deliver and what I'm charged. I know Asda charge different prices in different stores here depending on the geography but I am worried that people will be lured away from the 'farmers markets', grocers and to a certain extent places like Aldi's and Home Bargains and Poundland (the last two I have noticed keeping more chilled items in the last few months) causing these stores to suffer and possibly shut shop and move elsewhere. I've seen it happen with Lidl's where I am that our nearest 3 Lidl stores are price-wise on a par with the upper-market stores which makes it a false economy for the people its supposed to help. Its only once this choice is gone, we'll not only feel the pinch but have to carefully choose items according to our budget and it won't always be the healthier ones.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
