Sorry for jumping in on the thread but can I suggest a company bonnie-bumpkins? I have a veg box delivered every week and I realised the other day that it is coming up for nearly 2 years since I first started using them. The company I use is Riverford, who are based in Devon, but deliver all over the country. I do have a veg person that deals with my area of Kent and they are brilliant. They collect all the veg within 24 hours of the order being placed and deliver it all fresh and lovely, and are brilliant if you aren't in etc..
Back off to read the thread thoroughly now before I post again..
Hugs and love to everyone, I see a few regulars on here
I just wondered, how does it work with the veg boxes etc? is the price it says on the website per week?Every act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

I dont have a regular box. What I do is make a one off request when I need it - whether that be the mini or the large. If I want any extra bits then I order them. I dont use the veg fast enough to have a regular box either. Yes, its the price on the website plus any extra bits you may order.
I dont have their meat though as I find it VERY expensive.0 -
Hi all
And thanks for the tip Natty68! I did in fact find a local supplier: http://www.lovekentshop.ashopcommerce.co.uk/ at the weekend and the order has just been delivered!! I am very excited, I've been looking forward to it all week :j
It contains: lots of runner beans, a huge cauliflower, 23 small /medium-sized potatoes (yes I did count them and no I'm not going to count the beans), a pack of spinach and two yellow UFO shaped things which I haven't yet identified. Fruit-wise there are 9 apples (5 large, 4 teeny-tiny) and a small punnet of raspberries.
This is their medium box, for 2-3 people per week. I think the veg will be enough for the 3 of us, but not the fruit. It should be 50/50 fruit and veg but this one seems to be more like 25/75. I will query this before next week.
I signed up for the '5 weeks for the price of 4' offer for £46, which is £9.20 per week. It does look yummy. I also ordered 6 eggs per week for 5 weeks at £7.25 (£1.44 per half dozen, 24p per egg)
I will report back!!
ETA natty68 - I sent you a PM - first time I've done one so please say if it hasn't arrived :rotfl:*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

Where abouts in Lancs are you? There's a few places on the road from Blackpool to Cleveleys, or Abingdon St market, gets its supplies from local farms and is pretty good for its prices (well compared to what I normally pay in Scotland!).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -

hi i am in lancashire, i use the farm shop in rufford, if you are near there, they do trays of 2.5 doz free range eggs - a medium size egg tray is £3.50 and a tray of large free range eggs is around £4.00.
they also have 2 cauli's for £1 and 3 cabbages for £1 and in the winter months, they sell large sacks pots, under a fiver and sacks of onions for the same, so you can buy a lot of fresh home grown produce, quite cheaply, hope that helps.:T0
