Possible scam - need advice - ebuy4u.com

I'm just thinking perhaps halibut2209 is the scammer. Why would I bother warning others about a scam if it wasn't true?! Pointless. I've never had a reason to register on this website before - I actually found the thread by googling ebuy4u scam. If halibut2209 had £225 taking from his/her account and not received their goods then I'd expect a complaint listed here too. I spent a few hours of my day yesterday reporting the issue to my credit card company, ringing Trading Standards and re-ordering the item on Amazon - something I probably should have done in the first place.
Halibut - sounds fishy to me ... got to laugh otherwise I'd cry...0 -
Well, I got my money back today! Thank goodness for that.0

Thanks for letting us know. Hopefully Google will do the same for everyone involved.0

Still waiting to hear from Google. I reached the end of 'wait 5 working days for ebuy4u to respond' today and progressed the complaint. How long did it take after that to receive the refund within 3 days e-mail?0

Rule of thumb. If they cannot offer payment by use of credit or debit card, which means they have no merchant account, and you can only buy using google checkout or paypal, do not trade with them.
It's easy for any small business to get a bank account. If they do not have one, something is fishy.
Oh, ebuy4u.com site no longer exists. Might want to contact ebuyer too, they might want to get compensation for using a very similar trademark/name.0 -
Happy to report that my MasterCard account had the money credited back from Google Checkout today, and also my replacement cards arrived today (perhaps I was being over cautious in cancelling them). NatWest card services never did get round to sending out a claim form, despite several phone calls in which they said it would take "up to 7 working days".
One odd thing. Yesterday I received 5 SPAM emails, in French, sent to my gmail account name that I never ever use - except just this once to make this purchase a few weeks ago. Looks like more than a coincidence to me.0 -

An easy way to track where spam comes from using gmail is to append a + to your e-mail address when you register on a site. For example, yourname+ebuy4u@gmail.com. They will show in your mailbox that they have gone to "+ebuy4u". This can also be used to automatically filter or put them in to folders so they do not go to your inbox.
