I paid by visa debit card.The visa website says online payments using a visa card are protected against fraud and you can get all your money back:

"If you’re the victim of identity theft or fraud and someone uses your Visa card, we’ll make sure you get every single penny back. That means you can browse and shop in complete confidence".

"Online shopping is as safe as the high street and it’s reassuring to know:

• If you’re the victim of online fraud
• If your order is not delivered
• If you receive the wrong item
• If your order is delivered damaged
• If your travel company or airline goes under before your trip or whilst you are away

AND you have paid with your Visa card, you can get your money back".

Had the same problem with a games console. It was a birthday present for my step-mum... yet to ring my bank as thought google checkout would sort it... I guess I should call the bank in the morning!

I Purchased, or so I thought, a Canon G12 from ebuy4u early in July using Google Checkout. Got the full reply info including anticipated delivery date etc, followed by an email a couple of days later stating that my item had been dispatched and that I may be contacted by the courier closer to the delivery date. Fine, I thought. The anticipated delivery date came and went, I waited and waited.... Anyhow I was having the item delivered to my school address because no one is in at home during the day, so as we are soon breaking up for the summer and no one will be around I thought I'd try to get in touch with ebuy4u in order to either get a change of address for the delivery or perhaps speed things up. This of course is when I started to realise that ebuy4u is almost certainly a scam. Did a little digging and unfortunately had my worst fears confirmed. :mad: Thank God I paid on my credit card rather than my debit card, Capital One were most helpful and hopefully I won't have too long to wait to get my money back. :T

I paid on my visa debit and got a full refund, they did a chargeback.

I hope everyone else gets their money back as well :-)

Got scammed by them too...delivery of tumble drier was supposed to be yesterday...and surprise surprise nothing...wish I had found this thread earlier..have reported to trading standards and contacted my credit card company...again need to wait 30 days before can claim refund...hopefully that will go through ok..

they will all have to wait 30 days as the supplier has 30 days to deliver goods or cancel and refund.

i would not trust google checkout. i am a webhost and used to offer GC as a payment option for clients, but after have a few problems with them as a consumer i removed them as a payment option as i did not want my clients going through what i went through

Which bank is your visa debit with? It'd be good to keep track of which banks are successful with chargebacks.
