Hi everyone, 2 weeks and 2 days for me now :D I've saved £118 :j and not smoked 559 cigarettes!! ... Cravings aren't so often now, but when I get them they seem worse for some reason

    Well done everyone!
  • Morning all,

My stats as of now are...

"Free and Healing for Seven Days, 10 Hours and 27 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 6 Hours, by avoiding the use of 74 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £20.45"

And I've just passed another milestone. When I came into work there was someone standing outside having a smoke - and instead of feeling envious I felt sorry for them!

Have developed quite a nasty cough, but even that isn't really bothering me as I know it's my body getting rid of all the gunk.

Sending out positive vibes to all for a smoke free weekend.

    BB

    xx

Hi Boatie .... I know what you mean! I now look at my hubby with pity when he's outside having a smoke, especially the last few days, the weather has been awful and he's still stood out there!

I was fine til yesterday, i've just about lost my voice  It's either a high pitch squeak or I sound like Jade's mum

Jade's mum is never going to be a good look (or sound!) lol
  • Morning everyone :)

My silkquit tells me I have been smoke free for 1 week  10 hours etc etc

I have not smoked 297 cigarettes and have saved £37.14p (based on £2.50 a pack from a friend)

    Its hardly believable!

Still going strong though like others on here, I now have a cough and a sore chest, I also am being plagued by really bad heartburn but no idea if its related to stopping smoking.

One other thing I realised today that has amazed me.

There is a lot less dust in the room!

We have a glass table in the front room and even after I dust it, within half an hour, it has dust on it again.

I noticed for the first time a few days ago that I hadn't dusted it for two days and there was absolutely no dust on it!

The other thing I noticed in the kitchen, I washed all the windows and windowsills the day I stopped smoking and they were really bad, covered in a sticky goo which I assumed was from the grease when cooking, even though we don't eat much greasy food.

7 days on, the windows and windowsills are still looking like new, despite the fact I have cooked in there for the last week!

You really don't see how much your home is affected by smoke until you stop (apart from those who smoke outside)

Thats one more reason why I will never light another cigarette up :j :T
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!
    Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945
    Smoke free days = 11 Years :T
Cash saved so far = £125,45,11

still, i haven't killed anyone yet so all good

Me too, had it all last week not been too bad yesterday and as yet today. Maybe a coincidence?

I had it last week too, really badly! I never get heartburn, but this was keeping me awake, and lasted for pretty much the whole week, was awful.....didn't mention it cos didn't think it could be to do with quiting, but maybe it was
  • Just checking in. I am now on day 14 and still going strong. The odd craving here and there but only a fleeting one.
I also had the heartburn symptom, then when that subsided had two days of a very sore mouth and gums which I attributed to quitting also, because it then "Just went"

Keep up the good work everyone.
