Whoo hoo..I have passed another exam, I got a distinction for the powerpoint exam I did a few weeks' ago:j Some folks might not think it such a great deal but I have never had proper lessons in using programs such as excel, powerpoint etc until now. I am currently studying some more advanced powerpoint which is difficult as I am in an office that is not really suitable, sitting on a chair that is too low and the seating position is uncomfortable (we are using some hired training rooms at the mo which are the pits).

I rang my mum tonight to tell her the good news - she has said that getting distinctions is something to be proud of because she knows how hard I work to achieve them. She has told me that she had seen some cushions in the garden centre which she can get for about £8 which may match the curtains in my living room and they will fit on the dining room chairs (although the chairs are currently a shade of orange they will be repainted).

Dad is unwell again and mum isn't doing too well from the sounds of it as she sounded full of cold but she says that she is just tired having been up since 3am:(

In other news the travellers have left the park - now we have a whole heap of mess to clean up. Hopefully they won't return - they have been quite vile and threatened one man with an iron bar telling him to put his dog on a lead otherwise it would be killed (the dog wasn't doing anything and not interfering with the travellers at all). It is a pity that council tax payers have been left with the bill to clean up the park and remove all the human excrement - if it were me I would send the bill to the gypsy council and maybe then their members would not be so keen to leave a mess if they got hit in their pockets.

Dagnabbit, I failed the excel exam for the second time, I misread something that could be taken one of two ways and I chose the wrong way. I will be taking the exam again on Tuesday and will have the whole day to work on it because I have to pass it this time otherwise I am stuffed.

In other college news I am being put forward for a work placement within the college which may lead to a permanent job. Great, I can go back to having a cooked dinner there (I miss those dinners because I could get a hot dinner and pudding for £1). I received my petrol expenses today too - £13.80 which is fab as they pay my mileage and they have to use googlemaps which adds another 3 miles to my journey:rotfl:

I had a very late lunch today as I have been travelling about, I went to the rangers office twice because I had forgotten something the first time I went but I did get my photocopying done.

The travellers have left the park and now we have the mess to clear up but they will find it a lot harder to get in next time as we will be putting large tree trunks across the gap. Why they have to make so much mess is beyond me - why do they insist on leaving their own bodily waste in the park for someone else to clear up?

Had to smile yesterday, mum told me about my cousin's little lad whose birthday it was yesterday. Said child was most upset that he did not receive an opening present from his grandma so his mum gently reminded him that grandma puts money into the bank for him that he can have when he is 18 to buy himself something really special - he then asked if he would have enough for a Lamborghini, he is only 4 - kids don't you just love 'em.

Aesop the exam body is OCR (Oxford Cambridge RSA). I think that being where I am has a lot to do with me failing the exam. I am in some training rooms at a training centre, using a badly designed computer - they insist on having the tower on the desk leaving very little room to put anything down. Due to my eyesight problems I have to look at an exam paper printed on A3 paper and it is impossible to have it laid out on the desk.

I have had a busy morning - some friends came round to sort out the tombola for Saturday and we were going to sort out sweets but the cones I ordered from fleabay have not arrived due to paypal messing up. I rushed to the local sweetshop but they had extremely limited stock because the manager had been on holiday for nearly 2 months which meant no stock had been ordered. In the end I asked in the posh card shop and they sold me some bags which friends then deemed to be too big..sigh. Still I managed to cram a load of flying saucers into an empty sweet jar (all cleaned out) for the guess the number of sweets in the jar competition.

I had children in the house too - one of which dropped coloured rice sweets all over the floor. The baby was a bit of a screamer too as all he seemed to do was scream loudly because he had discovered his voice. I also had to endure CBeebies. Still we had a good time and the tombola is at least sorted if nothing else is.

Not sure if I have a lurgy, wouldn't be surprised if I had because the training rooms that we use are freezing cold and often it is warmer outside than in. I have my central heating on at the mo.

I made the mistake of venturing onto another forum within MSE - it saddened me to see that there are still some truly vile people about.

I nipped to see my neighbours this afternoon and took round a 50th Anniversary card - I remember the husband telling me yesterday that a murderer only gets 15 years in prison so I said that his wife must love him very much for him to have survived for so long:rotfl: (we have a similar sense of humour so it was ok).

I designed a certificate for a 3 year old as a reward for entering the logo comp (he was under the age range) and he will be presented with this along with some mini trucks which are just the right size for small hands.

I shall be tinkering with Word or Excel later as I need to type up a table to guess the number of sweets in the jar - I counted them today as I was putting them in and I can say that there is an odd number in there:D
