I feel decrepit - my shoulders ache terribly and I cannot seem to raise my head either (too much stooping talking to little ones).

It was the most amazing day today, the sun shone and more importantly people came. I had managed to get an article on to the front page of the newspaper in the top right hand corner which is where people's eyes tend to linger when they are reading:j

I knew the Lord Mayor was coming with his wife but I wasn't expecting to see our local MP there. Some of the councillors turned up and there is one who has a very vocal wife (she is the sort that lets everybody do the work and she steps in to take the credit, if you dare to go against her then she will be all sweetness and light to your face but a backstabber at the same time). All she has been able to witter on about is the fact that there are no children on the committee and we do not have a childrens group. Hang on a minute, we need to be on a stable footing before we start setting up kids' groups. Even her husband is the same and he kept banging on about being sneaky to get extra funding - I then made a point of repeating myself over and over saying that we need to be stable before we do anything else.

It was lovely because my Vice Chair had driven down from Scotland where he had been attending a family funeral last night just to be there today.

Oh we still had the naysayers - ones who are quite gobby yet when it comes to actually doing something tend to drift away, they were saying how we hadn't advertised with posters in the park - why put up posters as they would take them down again? We figured that it was obvious they couldn't read otherwise they would have seen the front page newspaper article.

We raised £405.16 which wasn't too bad in two hours. There was a bit of excitement because the air ambulance paid us a visit and landed at the top of the park. It would appear that someone collapsed in the park with a heart attack but he was stabilised and went off by road ambulance and the air ambulance was sent away again.

The feedback from the event has been great with folks asking for the picnic to be an annual event.:j

Had to laugh as mum called earlier to ask if I was doing a carboot in the morning, I said that I wasn't (cant be bothered to repack the car plus I will be having a much deserved lie in).

I lied, we made more money as I found a further cashbox that I had put on a dining room chair meaning to count it but forgot (I only found the box when putting some new cushions on the chairs) - we made £436.89.

Went to mum's today and stayed for less than an hour (I was shooed out), I went to pick up some cushions that she had bought to go on my bent wood dining chairs (I must febreze them as they stink of cigarette smoke - dad must have been smoking more because I know these were kept in the bedroom). They look rather nice and have flowers on them which are mainly in mulberry which picks up the mulberry in the curtains.

I came home with some freshly picked runner beans, a huge bag of tomatoes (some for my neighbour too) and I even took those whose skins had split as I tend to chop them and either bung them in a soup, chuck them in an omelette, she also gave me 2 cooking apples and a small cottage pie which I had for tea. I was also given a box of lawn seed which I must put on the badgered patch.

Realised today that I have done myself a mischief or at least caused more mischief to myself. Last December I had a fall and landed on my right arm severely spraining my right wrist which meant I had to wear a splint but I also pulled all the ligaments in that arm. I am right handed and therefore my arm is in use all the time so the ligaments haven't had chance to heal. Well, yesterday I was shifting some large heavy bags containing gazebos and today I feel dreadful - turning my head is awkward and the whole area feels sore.

Jobs for this week - tidy up and do housework eg. dusting and vaccing, also need to mow the lawns front and back. It would appear that I should be mowing them 2-3 times a week:eek: well it has been rather difficult as the grass has been wet and it clogs up the lawnmower. I am glad to have my house back and that all the tombola prizes have gone:j

Oh gosh it is nearly bed time - gotta scoot.

I still haven't mown the lawns, I have been round with the polish and the duster though which is a start.

I have banked the huge amount of cash and I will go to the bank again tomorrow to bank the floats (too much heavy cash to carry all at once). I also got some meat from the butchers so I shall be cooking up a beef stew in the slow cooker (or I would if I had got some carrots).

Watched By Any Means last night and saw lots of places in Birmingham that I knew interspersed with action shots of London (stock bits of film I think). I quite enjoyed it and found it better than Peaky Blinders with their dodgy brummie accents.

Struggled at college today, I cannot get my head around Publisher and the screens on the computers are too small and the chairs too low, so I asked if I could do some maths and then struggled with that. If someone asks me how to do some workings out in my head then they end up waiting for a long time because my mind goes completely blank. Apparently I should think of maths as a foreign language until I pointed out that I pick up foreign languages pretty quickly but I still go blank when it comes to maths.

I have had a headache all afternoon - it is oppressive out there and my shoulder and neck hurt.

Oh well best crack on I guess.

    :mad:Mothers!

Now I am not doing housework fast enough and I was reminded that I have been here for 15 months and my house should be as bright as a new pin. According to mother it isn't which is why she doesn't visit because visiting here makes her depressed - well as soon as I get a job I shall employ a cleaner because I cannot see the dust that seems to accumulate daily:mad:

She also felt like telling me that I should have nothing to do with the Friends group because I have too much housework and gardening to do - I do the Friends group because it gets me out of the house and meeting new people. Am I supposed to stay in the house and rot?

I have partially cleaned the living room/dining room. I need to clean the kitchen and the bathroom and do the floors. I also need to sort my bookcase out as I have books piled up in my spare room. I also need to tidy and clean my bedroom.

Surely there is more to life than attending college, looking for work and doing housework constantly?

I would say there is lots more to life than housework.
    Life is way too short.
Nobody on their death bed wishes they had done more housework.
    Well I certainly won't!!

I have tidied up a bit more - managed to force the back door open so that I can get out (the wooden has swollen - roll on 9 October when I have my new backdoor fitted), I did a load of washing that I hung on the line, sorted plastics and glassware into the recycling bin (papers need to be sorted next). I have also mowed the lawns front and back but not cut the edges yet (I will ask to borrow my neighbours edging shears as they have long handles and I don't have to stoop).

I went shopping too and drove to the local Sainsburys to buy bread erm I didn't take a list and came out with a bit more. I had a look in their clothing section as they had 25% off so I bought the gok dress I had had my eye on for a few weeks, two pairs of leggings and some opaque tights (3 different colours in a pack) and a pair of black ankle boots. I got cheese, apples, juice, crackers, bread, teensy pork pies, yoghurts, eating mousse (not hair mousse) and a couple of newspapers, also a living salad box. These are all things that I eat.

I had a call from college yesterday to say that I am to start my work experience placement in another part of the college and I am to work on Mondays and Fridays. I dared to ask if I was able to get my lunch there as it would cost me £1 (once again thinking of the washing up).

Life is for living and not for dusting, I also need a social life so the friends group is coming in handy, not only that it keeps me occupied with other stuff. Maybe if I had a gravestone (not planning to be buried) then I could put something witty on it about hating dusting and how ironic that I have turned to dust:rotfl: Excuse my sick sense of humour.

Best think about going to bed, I have to be up early and I need to wash my hair.
