There is more to life than housework and gardening, unless your garden has been taken over by weeds like mine has, and the housework needs a bit of a helping hand.

You sound like you do plenty of housework and gardening daily and you are entitled to a social life. it does you good to get out and meet people and interact with them.

My garden is large and there are a fair number of weeds - I have an excuse the soil is either too wet to dig or too dry. I do apply weedkiller occasionally but I have noticed that I have a lot more weeds since I had new bits of lawn laid (these seem to comprise mainly of squitch grass:mad:).

I confess that I haven't done any housework today and now I have some washing up that needs doing. I wanted to rest today. It has been one of those days, I was given a letter confirming my work placement which will end on 30 December. Oh I had a knock back letter for a really nice job that I applied for so on ringing them was asked to write in and ask for feedback as they do not give feedback over the phone..sigh. Still it was a nicely written letter.

I realised too that this course I am on can be quite nasty as sometimes people are not treated as well as they should be. One lady who is totally blind was on a work placement with a national charity who are supposed to represent blind people - she could not get to grips with Microsoft Outlook Calendar because she hadn't used it before and she had only been given 15 mins training on it (difficult when you have to rely on using some screenreader software). As this well known charity refused to train her to use this software and the college also refused, she was told today that nothing more could be done and that she should go home never to return. As she is a residential student, this meant that all her belongings had to be packed and that she and them had to be taken to the station and she was put on a train home. I am utterly disgusted.

I have been mainly doing maths all day today, I should by rights be learning to use publisher but cannot be bothered as I am conscious that I haven't had as many maths lessons as I should have. Well, I was given a test that I did on Tuesday and rattled through it and then asked if I could do the level 2 work which is a huge jump but as I selected to answer the questions where a calculator could be used, I decided to have a go. I have probably gotten things wrong but at least I am having a go.

I finish at lunchtime tomorrow which gives me the rest of the day to continue with the house clean.

I spent the morning applying for a job with the NHS and followed that with a bit more maths - again the rest of the level 2 paper and it would appear that I got 13 questions right out of 21 which to me did not seem that bad considering I couldn't understand half the questions in the first place:D

I had some lunch when I got home and then got to doing more tidying (my bedroom now looks like a bomb has hit it) but I have managed to sort out the free bookcase that I found and couldn't be bothered to paint it so bought some sticky backed plastic that was wood toned and used that - it looks ok in the walk in wardrobe with books in it.

I had to go to the chemist too as my neck and shoulder were (still are) killing me to buy some gloop to slap on it and maybe if I can pluck up the courage some heated pads to use too. Maybe I should think about going to see the quack but what can he do - it is ligament damage and there is no real treatment that I can have.

I have done the washing up and dumped some newspapers etc into the recycle bin.

Tomorrow I will go to get some of Wilkos own sterilising fluid as it is better than the well known brand beginning with M and it is cheaper (this is needed for my mum and her sister as they use it to clean their dishcloths - I might get a bottle for me too) and on the way back I can go to the fire station for a lech..erm I mean to have my car washed:o

Suppose I had better think about going to bed as my shoulder is really sore. Night all.

I spent the whole of yesterday cleaning and baking.

I eventually got some heated pads for my shoulder and wore one all day on Saturday (it was divine) and I may wear one again tomorrow, I also have some gel stuff to use too.

It was the first day of my work placement today and at first I thought I had been forgotten about but soon everything was sorted. I have to run the job shop as well as update things on the computer, as well as find work placements. I discovered today that I also have to teach and be a learning support worker which was great fun - the woman running the course (also one of my bosses) told me how good I was and that I was able to share real experiences with the students and that I was extremely patient with one particular student who had great difficulty using the computer but she was adamant that she was going to do it. In the end, I helped her with her spelling and tidied the document up for her so that it looked presentable.

I was able to have lunch at college today which cost me £1 - I had homemade beefburger with onion on a seeded bap with sliced fried potatoes, green beans and mixed veg followed by rice pudding and I had a mug of hot chocolate too. I admit that I will miss college food when I go the new place in town tomorrow so I must remember to take my own lunch.

I am particularly pleased about this placement because it could turn into something permanent because there is now a vacancy. I met one girl last week who told me that she had been there for about 3 months and was on probation, well they got rid of her on Friday due to her poor time keeping plus she wasn't doing the work she was supposed to be doing. I don't have that worry and I shall make darned sure that I get the job because I will make it into something they hadn't even thought about:D Just wondering if I can get a certificate or something for teaching and support work?

Feeling a bit parched so I am off to make a coffee and have a little chill out in front of the gogglebox.

Spent most of yesterday sleeping and I got up late today. Did some washing and hung it out and then headed off to see my parents after lunch. I had to take some stuff to mum and came home with a boot full of plants (I need to get weeding and digging) as well as bulbs, a tub of gravel, some freshly picked runner beans and loads of tomatoes (some for eating and some for souping).

I had dinner at mums too - trouble is dad decided that he would not be eating a slice of meat from his plate and instead of giving me the plate decided to scrape the meat across and in the process slopping gravy all over the freshly laundered tablecloth - mum hit the roof. This was at the end of the meal I might add but even so I could see why she was cross. I came home with the rest of the joint as dad wont eat it cold in a sandwich and it would just go to waste. Mum also gave me some room spray in bluebell and daisy scent (it smells of bluebells). I shall also be getting some new bedding at some point as she had seen a lovely duvet set and when she saw it thought of my bedroom.

The badger has discovered my compost bin - the worms must have been singing in the night as the door was scraped away and I found it on the lawn - well, I do have some good compost.

It was a bit scary driving home as it was dark by the time I left mum's (I hate driving in the dark) and I had a couple of near misses, one driving along and I nearly ran up the back of a black car parked where there were no streetlights (it was parked outside a shop on double yellow lines) and then further up the road a nincompoop decided to pull straight out of the church hall carpark right in front of me - he didn't even look. I was pleased to get home.

My washing is still hanging outside but my bins have been put out and two sacks of garden waste - my car is emptied of plants now too.

Cant wait for Wednesday as I am having a new back door fitted at 8.30am - hurrah, it will be double glazed and not draughty plus I will be able to open and close it without it sticking.

Wondering too if I am gluten intolerant because everytime I eat bread or something that contains flour my stomach swells and I get a bout of diarrhoea (yay I have managed to spell it). Must do something about my diet - I just need to learn to eat regularly.

    Time for bed.
