First off, cards on table. Never been on one and never likely to. Don't disapprove of fox hunting though.
But passing comment in such a manner before asking for the closure of the topic smacked of double standards. I did write as such but then deleted thinking perhaps even commenting as such was non-NP.

Not just you, but I'm happy to move on too.

    Hunting.

Had to confront the hunt a couple of weeks ago, as they had strayed onto my property.

Short conversation involving most of my vocabulary of adjectives.

Personally I don't care one iota whether or not these stuck up !!!!! :eek:decide to dress up in strange outfits and ride their horses about whilst chasing a pack of hounds who have "accidently" begun chasing a fox/stag, but they can't do it on my property, and they know that !!!

The word hunt, rhymes with another word that aptly describes these people and their arrogant attitude towards others.

where as we dont allow the hunt either, and yet are still on a great basis with them, they card me so I know when they are coming passed so I can make arrangments to best suit me if the come on neighbouring farmers land or up the road, and also I get a phonecall the day before to remind me. They do want to go through our rough patches, so maybe that's why they are being so good, but we don't have enough land to make it worthwhile courting us. We are also invited to meets free as ''farmers'' and the farmer's drinks party, and have been invited to the ball as guests, which we have turned down both summers. The beagles are as couteous about letting us know but not as socially inclusive yet!

My money's on that, although I'm 110% hopeless at puppets and knowing who is who. One person/one name.... else I'm lost forever :)

I think Itsme is for real, because we meet elsewhere on the forum. She is in our neck of the woods, not the posh bit near that London place. ;):)

Edit: have just updated page and found this has already been answered!:o

Jonny, your comment and NDG's are calm, polite, and appealing for niceness - eminiently suitable for the NPT. Some of the other responses to the topic have not been. I believe there's a debate on the subject over in the Arms. Take it there, please, folks.

sorry lydia, replied before I'd seen your request. Apologies and fair enough, :)

Well, thanks for the welcome, folks. :(

I don't know who you think I'm meant to be a sock puppet of but I've only ever posted under the one name.

DH and I went to visit Lydia today. After I lost the keys and smashed the back windscreen of the car out, lol. I said to dh, ''are you cross'' and he said ''its an adventure, I've never driven with no back windscreen and I've never been to the place Lydia lives, what's to be cross about?''. I am married to a saint.

He played computer games with Lydia's ds, who had to do the hard bits, and the easy bits for DH. Lydia's dd said ''you're rubbish'' to which her brother said ''sshhh, don't be rude'' and dh said ''No, she's right I AM rubbish''.

I thought it was interesting to watch the ''boys'' interact. Men of any age seem to get on spo quietly. DH said hi to L's DS ewho said , ''wanna play?'' set dh up and they just got on with it, while Lydia's dd and I giggled and talked a lot while I got the first half of the house tour. :)

In that case apologies for not welcoming you to the thread sooner. Welcome :) All are welcome and we only have nice discussions and offer support. Occasionally we even stray on to the ecomomy in a less confrontational way than the rest of the sub-forum.

Well, thanks for the welcome, folks. :(
