i went to Tesco today, twas a mistake.

Went to get the food at 7am this morning. Busy but not hectic. Great idea. Just the turkey to pick up tomorrow.

Now just off to the cinema after I took inspiration from lemonjelly's great idea for his friend. A bit of googling and hey presto found a local one to us. Wonder when he's going?
The Mrs still doesn't know why we're going out and as it's her favourite film I expect lots of points in the bank. :D

    Anyway, Merry Christmas all!

re supermarket, its the only place I've seen packed out. we went in the middle of the night last night, thinking it would be quiet, rofl. I asked at the till and the person said it had been unbelievable since tuesday...more crowded than any christmas she's worked by a long chalk...so thats presumably where the money will be made this year.

Certainly, I know of people who think they have been infected viewing a microsoft news page or youtube.

My recent infection was the first in two years... but suddenly almost everyone I know is getting computer viruses.

I have taken to using a sandbox, because I think we are at the start of an epidemic.:D

I was reading about the coming crisis with the Euro when I got mine, but I can't remember where. :(

    I'm now using Sandboxie. :A

Sue, I hope you have remission from whatever it is over the Christmas break, and that they sort it out for you afterwards with the minimum of pain.

After combing a local market town for a guinea fowl, arrived home to find a brace of pheasants (newly shot) hanging from the front door handle. :rotfl:

Bit fresh, but they'll do New Year. :D

It was always like that, up there. :p

Down here, it's far more relaxed. Hardly had to wait at a till anywhere, except M&S. :)

Campari? I didn't realise it was that popular!

Autocorrect on the ipad is a bit excitable - and a pain to un correct.

    cirrus=currys, campari=car park

the problem with the town I dislike is its got lots of shops that don't do anything for me at all. I buy clothes at monsoon a bit, but the one here is TINY and stocks only day where...now where am I going to wear day wear? My wardrobe consists of tracksuits and evening gowns and not mych inbetween:rotfl:. Oh, and there is a decent sized Boots the Chemist.

I'm still trying to find the best way into bath (seeing if I can avoid that wretched a4 bit with a queue I sit in for longer than my journey there) and slaisbury I like, but feels like a trek and no space nk for more fun window shopping...though in the evening getting to space nk (I find going to the evening ''special events'' the best way to do it) is very easy in Bath.

I do miss old Street shopping outlet.......

Sandboxie is easy. Tom will probably say its just a software solution and the best Sandbox is a hardware version, or Windows Virtual Machine, but it does give some extra protection.

This is what I think happens. It might not be exactly right, but it will give you an idea:
The (free) program Sandboxie puts everything you do on the Internet into one place on the hard drive, rather than having it scattered around, which is what normally happens. This is the sandbox. Then, when you decide, you can delete everything on that bit of the hard drive: i.e. empty the sandbox. So, if you get a virus, the theory is that it will be contained, so can be deleted.

It will run any program in a sandbox, not just a web browser.

    There's more info here: http://www.sandboxie.com/

:) I might pop over in the new year for some shopping. depending on what happens next for dh. If he stays in uk its quite likely to still be stupid casual dress.....and he's looking a bit shabby in that sort of stuff atm....so need to do a very stern bishing session from his drawers and see what he needs.
