no b is we'll have to dig ut the concrete floors to do it.
the thing with wall rads is a even the beautiful cast iron ones of the type we used t sit on at school with staff saying ''you'll regret that when you are older'' they take up wall spae. they are in my homes inefficent below winows because I like long curtains.
some one on mse had these briliant things called thermaskirt...but won't work in a period setting0 -

we wrote off ashp early on as apparently there is a ''hum'' no noticeable in urban or village locations but out here at night would be a pita (tbh I can't even stand the sound of many gas metres because I have weird ears/hearing...I just know I'll be one of those people that hears The Hum ina few years.). BUT builders' heating contractor believes he has a model fitten ina simialr location that MIGHT suit....rranging to go and listen to it in the dead of night in the new year0 -
My parents are very much the same but have had to put up with a very noisy oil boiler so the ashp is not too bad - they also have it in an outbuilding outside the far end of their house from their bedroom so about 60m away (and also they spend their winters in SA now so can't really hear it at all...). However I am sure it is one of those things that if you try and listen for it you will definitely hear it.
Another however, the only house I have stayed in that had a warm air heating system always felt draughty...

I see. The argument is that on the whole people can deal with understeer better than oversteer. Fair point.
On that same point it is better to have a blowout on the front than the back (although obviously it is better to not have one at all) also a good reason for having your best tyres on the rear, the trade off I guess is grip and braking.

Yesterday, somewhere in the heating forum, somebody asked about marble radiators.... as I'd never heard of them, I had a quick look .... and .... they seem like a solution for some people in some situations. Might be worth tracking that thread down and seeing what people said about it.

This one is for living in - other would be purely for profit. Loads of equity for both, problem is income multiples so one mortgage would need to be 'btl'. If we could rent out this one for 18 months, but keep current mortgage, move in to other for 6 months on new resi mortgage (on grounds current mortgage is covered by rent) then rent elsewhere for 12 months whilst other property is extended and sold then we should make loads of money but suffer severe hassle of 3 moves...
The trouble you'd have there, I think, is "porting" the mortgage to the new house. You have to meet current lending criteria to keep the deal....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
