A ten year tyre is unheard of in this household I think!
Just check this video.

This one is for living in - other would be purely for profit. Loads of equity for both, problem is income multiples so one mortgage would need to be 'btl'. If we could rent out this one for 18 months, but keep current mortgage, move in to other for 6 months on new resi mortgage (on grounds current mortgage is covered by rent) then rent elsewhere for 12 months whilst other property is extended and sold then we should make loads of money but suffer severe hassle of 3 moves...
I know you'll pay more interest, but isn't this what commercial mortgages are for? You might be lucky to get PPR relief. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
very clear.
so why are tyre places saying it doesn't matter? Laziness?0 -

Just had my 10 yo car serviced and Mot'd, the rear tyres are still OK but 10 years old so I should replace. Thing is the man that does my car insists that new tyres should go on the front and the old ones moved to the back. I told him he is wrong ( I know, granny, suck eggs and all that) and the new tyres go on the back but he won't have it
I've spoken to my mechanic on this point. He said that the advice on this was changed about 4-5 years ago and it has caused much confusion. My mechanic is fab and I have no reason to doubt him. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I have a twelve year old tyre on my car.
I found it in the spare compartment when I needed to replace a punctured tyre.
It was original equipment and it still matched the Michelin tyres I'd fitted earlier.0 -
DOOZERGIRL and maybe michaels....are you about?
taling about floors elsewhere n mse made me think I should ask your opinion. In the kitchen we are definitely having underfloor heating, but been advised its a big job to go through t concreted floors elsewhere to install it without reducing ceiling height (an issue in one room and all doorways). How big a job is it really...is it going to be a killer for resale....would we lose on this cost? t would mean not having to have rads in much of the house, but cost is boosted by me thinkingwell..if we are doing that we should go the whoe hog and have stone not wood in this part of the house and just have wood (w/underfloor heating) in the ''smarter'' new (restored from scratch)bit.

I'd put new tyres on the front, especially if front wheel drive. What car is this?
You and my mechanic, everyone else (and that includes all tyre manufacturers and the AA) think they should go on the back axleI have a Corsa 1.8 SRI BTW.
