Someone just bumped an Inspector Monkfish thread and I was wondering if there was any news of him and Daisy. I noticed he hasn't been on for about six months so there must be a lot going on in his life. I'm thinking of him and his family. Any news?

I've been wondering about the Inspector too.

I miss him. He was one of the best, most informative, funniest, and also genuinely nicest posters.:(

Message broadly for jelly, but also for anyone else who's interested.

Jelly suggested reading Dan Ariely, and I went on to watch both of his books. Can't remember who, but someone on the board suggested watching "The Flaw", about the flaw Greenspan discovered in the financial system. I've finally got round to watching the Flaw this afternoon, and it features Dan Ariely throughout the programme. So people interested in reading the book, may also be interested in watching the programme.

Bizzarre timing alert! I finished reading Predictably Irrational last night!

I will be starting a seasonal book this week.

<makes mental note to update the nice peeps re reading material>

A believe might guess middle child was the aries?

Dh is a taurean...so we did it the other way round. Not that it mattered to me....I'd have married him if he ws born under the sign of Zorro:D or the exit sign

    Nope, youngest!

Only two weeks between eldest and middle son's birthdays (both conceived in drunken moments over Christmas/New year, youngest was a holiday baby)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I had a disaster on Friday night...my kettle broke! It seems a waste getting a new one as I know I am getting a new kettle for Christmas, so in the meantime, it is boiling water in a sauce pan on the stove, good thing is that sometimes, it is quicker than my old kettle, bad news is I can't allow the two younger boys to do it, especially middle son who would probably leave the stove top on or forget that the stove is hot and burn himself and youngest is too small to actually reach.

Blooming things, they just don't seem to last as they used to.

they really don't. I've been through to kettles in 18 months :( in the meantime, do you have a thermos, so at least having boiled the pan you have a long lasting hot drink?

Hehe, out of me and my siblings, one is an Aries and the other Gemini...with me as a Taurus in the middle. My late elder brother would have been a Scorpio (I think his birthday was the last day of Scorpio). I'm only just a Taurus and youngest is only just an Aries.

I do display some typical 'signs' of being Taurus but I tend not to put any great stock in star signs anyway.

Two kettles here too in the last 12-18 months.

No, no thermos...it is only taking 4 minutes to boil the water anyway as I am only boiling just enough for a (large) cup of tea but it has had the effect of me drinking less tea than normal!

Pastures new is right, but she is missing two important things:

    1. A seperate dining room,
    2. Hot and cold running servants.

'Cos, as far as I am concerned, the perfect kitchen is one you never have to go in unless you want to.

Unfortunately I've never had the perfect kitchen, but I can always dream :)

We've had 2 versions of the same kettle since 2004. Bought new kettle when we moved in here but it leaked within 2 years so we complained to the manufacturer even though out of warranty. They sent us a new one and that's been going over 5 years now.

It's a Russell Hobbs and looks a bit like this (brushed metal finish though, not shiny)
