No idea what the outcome will be today either, I should be phoning to fnd out how she is/where, but I feel like !!!!, stomach's churning, I've a headache from sleepless night and I need to get my head in gear and have a shower and get dressed before I make that call in case I have to do something/go somewhere.
I am at least closer to the H building since I moved, so it'll be just an 18 mile round trip to visit, but wondering if the old will need to be in a secure place - and what happens then when they come back to 2011 and find out they can't wander off.
You poor thing. Siblings...do they know yet?0 -

Oh Pastures.
The Old is safe. Leave the hospital people to do their job and look after her for now, and take care of yourself for a little while. It's not in anybody's interest for you to run yourself into the ground. Leave tomorrow to worry about itself - each day has enough troubles of its own.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Yesterday we marked out kitchen idea on the ground and walls in the kitchen. doozer's pain english kitchen and the beautful table like iland really changed things for me: that is what I want.
marking it out with chalk also made in clear that PN is right: the island in our kitchen should be clear, and it will in fact be the main worksurface. so the sink has to go unther the window and hopefully I can squeeze a dishwaher on that run too. By default of space it has to be the corner fridge. Its actually ging to be a rather compact cooking area of the kitchen. Not as big as I hoped, but that because of the other stuff going on. I think it will still ork well, and things like having a scullery and a second utilty should mean a copact well working kitchen is going to be ok.0 -

Then I was on the phone to them for probably a total of two hours at various points of the evening while I was at the old's awaiting a professional to advise.
I never post here the details as it's such an open forum and I don't post this stuff elsewhere either ...
The NP thread is like my own little Samaritans line
When you phone them all they say is "how do you feel about that?" and you just rabbit on, then hang upIt's a bit like that here, I can rabbit on and somehow some of the worry/pain's been "dumped".

- space/sockets for the stuff that gets left out and plugs in (kettle, toaster, microwave, food processor type of stuff that people might have).
- space to put cold food beside the oven while the door is opened
- space to put scorching hot food beside the oven just as it's taken out
- space to put dirty dishes
- space to put clean dishes (draining board/rack)
- a looooooong stretch for those days that you're actually cooking, think of making 2 pizzas and having room to have them both in a tray beside the space you used to roll them out, beside the space where the ingredients are. So that bit probably has to be a 4' run minimum. That space should be completely and utter free/available at all times when it's not actually being used.
- space to serve up (which would be that 4' clear space) and space to dump all the dishes if there's been a big meal/buffet/party going on (again, that 4' space).
One new thing I've learnt with observing the old is that you should be able to do things without carrying hot/heavy stuff across the room. e.g. space beside the hob so a saucepan can go from the hob to the worktop without being carried in free space. And once on the worktop the sink should be accessible, so you're not having to carry (say) a saucepan of boiling spuds/water across the floor to drain them in the sink, but could potentially slide the saucepan across the worktop to do it.
The problem with the old's kitchen was that the sink wasn't connected to anything and the oven had been slotted into an old chimney breast, so no space either side. Everything in that kitchen was perpetually being carried across the kitchen.
Think about the routes of water and hot saucepans/water because every time you have to lift them up and carry them you're creating a danger and a potential for spills/slips.0 -

I use everyone here like tht too, and am hapy to be the listener in return. I love that response here is varied and sympathetic but often relly proactive too but that people just listen.0 -

- space/sockets for the stuff that gets left out and plugs in (kettle, toaster, microwave, food processor type of stuff that people might have). I'm having all of that gumph behnd doors, with loadsa sockets
- space to put cold food beside the oven while the door is openedyep, just. I'm having a lintel type thing to diguise the exractor fan, and though the ones with sides LOOK gorgeous I'm opting not to have them for this reason.. the ones with sides provide good hidden storage for stuff like oil/salt pepper and jug of wooden spoons though....
- space to put scorching hot food beside the oven just as it's taken outyep, other side of this
- space to put dirty dishes by sink
- space to put clean dishes (draining board/rack)otherside of sink
- a looooooong stretch for those days that you're actually cooking, think of making 2 pizzas and having room to have them both in a tray beside the space you used to roll them out, beside the space where the ingredients are. - space to serve up (which would be that 4' clear space) and space to dump all the dishes if there's been a big meal/buffet/party going on (again, that 4' space). island again

about two steps from cooker to under window sink. not ideal, but leaves island free

I dd pretend sugar melting yesterday...with timed run to sink of cold wter:o:D and then turning to island to pour and shape. i tnk it shouls all work.0 -
I'm a Taurus, was married to an Aries and have two Librans and an Aries for children.
Sorry to hear that PN, strokes are not nice. Dad is under the hospital again after having what they think are a run of small strokes plus a recurrance of a heart condition. It has got to the point where mum is preparing herself for the worse and not thinking long term in her plans for the future (I have also been preparing the boys). They are paying the fees for their holiday caravan for next year today but mum has already decided not to keep it on after that...she really cannot see dad being here for the 2013 season.
Major problems with Virgin media in this area yesterday, no broadband from early afternoon because a cable had been partially sliced through in some far off place. Loads of moaning in Morrisons this morning as those who have Virgin media for their TV had to either miss X Factor or find someone who didn't have TV through Virgin...didn't bother me, I don't watch it and we don't have television through Virgin anyway. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Kids need "shoved, moulded, manipulated" to do the right things on times. It's a constant battle!
Any NP interested in astrology?

I'm with NDG & LydiaJ in thinking astrology is complete & utter boolsheet.
I cannot ever fathom why anyone would feel there are only 12 categories of people in the world.
I'm also wondering if believe in such things is related to what time you prefer to get up each morning?:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
