It is tough in this 7,000,000,0000 world isn't it !

Does the technique of flying to Eire and walking across border still work?
The people I know who did it were white which probably helps.

I did it out of the USA into Canada - caused something of fuss and that was in 1965.

    Happy simpler times.

In 1966, my friend stowed away, then worked his passage, to follow the girl he was besotted with back to the good ol' USofA. He had a passport, which probably helped him get in at t'other end, but even then, there were work permits etc etc.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, he bummed around a bit near this young lady's house, until he was arrested for vagrancy and banged up to do 200 days hard labour on a soya bean farm.

If I remember correctly, his parents got him out via the British Embassy before too long, but they hung on to his passport until the costs were all paid.

Maybe not such simple times, but happy? Yes! :)

    Out of sorts today.

Going on holiday always makes me like this.

Nervous about leaving little one home alone. Which I very much doubt he will be alone for much of the time. And he is in fact very much looking forward to it.

Nervous of just being so far away....and such a journey to get there....

That sounds really wimpy. Ignore me!

yes,but davesnave and I both dslike the agents. They should be called smarmy and screwyou.

Hrmph! The agents didn't screw me over the house, although they tried, but they did at the last (and only) farm sale I attended. Stopped the bloody auction at the point when I bid so that Uncle Ned could be wheeled out to demonstrate the item, which then went for nearly 3x as much.

Everything else was sold 'as seen.' :(

Mind you, I should still have bought it.....:o
  • I got away with it - but I was a bit wary when I went back 40+ years later, as I stuck my digit in the finger print recorder.

No it is not! If I had my way I'd never be out of bed before 10am.
You can have your way. Just do it.

You need to run away from home - is there a circus near you?

    kindred spirits.

tell, me where do you stand on taps and on mushrooms?

    :rotfl:

Oh no, I'm being forced to take sides on the mushroom debate! I like mushrooms.

Taps, well, I think the shell looks a bit too much like a severed scrotum to enjoy even in a post-ironic way :o My taps are called 'decadence' but nowhere near as decadent as those!

I don't think the mrs would allow it, and anyway the nearest circus is a 5,632,387 mile round trip. :)

    rofl. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I hve a desicated puffball that looks just like a scrotum. I dn't really know why I keep it, but it does make me laugh!

The idea I like best atm is the home made one. If I could find a stone spout AND an led indictor thats what I'd do I think. The trouble with modern taps is the thing of knowing whether your hands are going to be boiled or frozen. :)
