Fantastic, I have just downloaded the free Kindle app to my new tiny mobile phone, loaded a couple of free books to test (Dracula, Sherlock) and it is easily readable even on my small screen (Xperia Ray).

I did that with iBooks but after reading a couple of free classics my eyes hurt!

So I was in Tesco as I had some vouchers and they were the cheapest for nappies and I was trying to spend over £80 to use the £8 off voucher so picked up a random kettle for £40 with the intention of returning it next time I am in Tesco - got to the checkout and the £40 kettle rang through at £4 ruining everything - only able to use the £4 off £40 voucher whereas for £80 I could have used both...don't ya just hate bargains.

You should have bought 10 of them....and then returned all 10.

What difference if they are going back.

In the meantime you could have put a picture of your hoard in the Tesco thread. Talking of which I hope you've given details on there.

Every time I have looked at council tax banding appeals I have decided I am at more risk of being banded up than down

We definitely should be in the higher band. The previous owners extended it and I guess it was probably at the top of its band before they started. Plenty of blue spots (indicating it goes up for the next owner) on houses near here that are smaller than ours. We are in the same band as the house we moved from.

    I'm keeping quiet.

Especially as "my" street light is now switched off between midnight and 6am.:mad:

More eco friendly allegedly..so how come the Xmas decorations are on through the night?

There is now a FB group "turn our street lights back on petition...." for any Hertfordshire NP.

Well I would have done but i was already at the check out...and I was going to post on hotukdeals but then I thought I might go back tomorrow and see if they had any more first - it was the Hatfield store and a black morphy richards accent kettle if that helps any nice people.

:) Nothing apparent of interest under the floor so far, just the floor is going absolutely nowhere. :( they see to be upto half a foot deep (I'm told this won't be a problem with underfloor heating, its just they'll take longer to warm up when we turn it on after summer but be really good all winter) .

What are they planning to do with the UF now? And what are they digging for?

Cheers.... had the TV on some annoying Come Dine With Me programme... turned over now.

He is an oddball isn't he.

He just wants to promote his subject. He's not really interested in being a personality. I like him. But I also like bird lights and did like Kirsty until she started raiding skips and making stuff out of felt.

I went to Grand Designs at the NEC and watched some of the seminars he was involved in. They would start rammed, and I started at the back, but was at the front in very little time as it was pretty nerdy. I loved it. He's not really interested in holding people's attention for the sake of just being on telly.

He looks a lot different than he did in the first Grand Designs. He definitely looked better then :o

As if I haven't got enough to do, I need a new kettle. Mine has plaster all round the outside and, I suspect, the inside. Now I do have to go to Redditch. Maybe I will find Farmfoods while I am there.

I did have a shower in my own house today and the lounge is finished :)

I think if I got in that state I would just reload Windows from scratch, although not entirely foolproof it more or less spring cleans your software. I have never really sussed that sandboxie thingy but I have always fancied doing it for bank accounts.
I think I might have done that, had I known what I was getting into, but you don't! Also, didn't have a back-up of everything. :o

How did you know it was there?

You find out where stuff is hiding when you regain control and the software (in this case AVG) begins to locate it. I ran scans with half a dozen different bits of software, as no one program seems to find everything.

For bank accounts, you can use Trusteer Rapport as a good first line of defence against keyloggers etc.;)

Anyway, good news that tom only had a virus, which was quickly removable. :)
