You are a good sister. You get an honours mention too. Dame Kool.

re the garden, I'm feeling lost with a bit of our backgarden too....the bit nearest the house. I want it sort of formal, and its a wide, but short patch, so I want it to look longer. I know I want lots of blues there, and height, maybe small clematis growing up supports, so ...um, like my sig but plants instead of pants.

Would wisteria look good there lir, or not the look you are going for? I love wisteria and canterbury bells and foxgloves, oh and well cut back buddleia, so many of my favourite flowers are blue and purple. I do love the blue clematis too, just not long enough flowering. I had a clematis at my old house and I would miss it flower every year as it would come out, flower and die off in the time I took my holiday.

I'm hoping to have a wisteria on the back of the house. The polanting is IMo the easier bit, its the hard landscaping/structure I'm struggling with.....

But all the plants you mention will feature here. :):)

    whoohoooo

    long weekend for foundinrates. :)

Me too. For reasons unknown there is one Bank Holiday a year in Aus. Only the banks get the day off, presumably this is in recognition that being part of the Zionist plot for world domination is actually quite hard work so we need a rest.

I'm slightly equivocal about it. I mean who's going to destroy the world's economy if I'm not at my desk?

Been and back. Viva's interfering got me some great results. I actually had a meltdown in Reception :) Luckily I had somebody with me ... and she explained while I retrieved the phone I'd lobbed just before I sank :)

With the intermediary there, they explained things in simple language - and afterwards I got a phone call to say that we've two assessments booked now for needs. Stuff's falling into place... well, it's been kicked by the Nice People.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. We're so much closer to having things done right.

The Hospital had no parking available, except 500-600 yards up the hill. And no wheelchairs. On the basis 90% of their patients are probably needing a wheelchair, and there were about 20+ patients waiting when we arrived, there are two slots outside and that's it. As for chairs ... all gone to others that wanted them. That brought a logistics nightmare, which was dealt with. I had two that needed assistance walking, nowhere to park, no "set down" point (ended up parking on some red hatched area to let them out and leaving them while I went off to park and got back 15 minutes later). It's an appalling system. And the parking cost me just shy of £5.

Great post to read before bedtime PN......so glad Viv's intervention got results that should help all of you on all levels from now on.

Now you are in some kind of 'system' the things that are out there that can help you all should be easier to access.

..and SC, totally understand about 'it's adult stuff' said by parents of 40 somethings :). Hope the treatment progresses well for him too.

Miss K...hoping your sisters op isn't too serious and goes well too.

Well...I have lots of news, some achingly shallow too but I 'll save the trivial stuff for after the weekend.

Son passed the LLB with 65 (a commendation) but I know he was a bit upset not to get a Distinction overall (which he said is 67....but don't know of that's the case. Sounded low to me as in the olden days distinctions were like 90%). Seems Tort and Judicial something were the tricky ones that dragged down the mark. But he did good.

We got talked into hiring a PR company for a months trial for a silly sum. Both of us are very very wary of this type of thing and hate to pay for 'Hot Air' but figured you got to try it once especially as things at the moment are all going off.
3 weeks in and we are already fed up with the BS and Hot air but will reserve judgement until the entire 4 week period is up.

After the W/E our section in Holy Grail moves into the window spot. (OMG) for 1 week before moving to it's perm position. Have been interviewing for staff this week.......it's sooooo stressy taking people on.

My bestest news is that we are paying off 25% of the mortgage this week. I can't believe I can actually write that......feeeels good (sung a la James Brown)

I like all those - and honeysuckle, too.

Well done son - but LLBs are usually done as I, 2.i, 2.ii etc. Where does the commendation come in? I got 68, overall, OH got 66, so we both got a 2.i.

I once saw James Brown in concert. In the Kremlin, in Moscow. Watching him since "Born in the USA!" in the Kremlin was a surreal experience!

My Morrisons value honeysuckle is being eaten away by something - well the leaves are. It had managed to reach about 5 foot high, so I thought it was doing well. No I have trailing stalks with the remnants of bitten down leaves:(

Every year there seems to be one day where ants develop wings. Today is the day, masses of flying ants everywhere.

Grrrrr, grrrrr and for good measure....grrrrrrr!

Just read that my ex husband is off on holiday, the same ex husband who says he doesn't have enough holiday time/money to have the boys. I am absolutely spitting fire here as he put it on Facebook and two of the boys are on there and have him on their contacts, so they will see his status update and it will be me getting the fall out from them.

And to make things worse, he is going to where we used to go but had to stop because it was ultra blooming expensive.

Grrrrr on your behalf, too. Also hugs.

Don't even begin to think about protecting him from your boys' anger. If they rant at you about it, try saying "It's no good complaining to me about it - I can't do anything to change it. If you want to tell him how you feel, you can, and if you'd rather not tell him, that's fine too. Just don't expect me to make it different, because I can't."

I imagine that because two of them have ASD, there will inevitably be some extent to which their frustration and helplessness and anger and feelings of rejection will end up getting taken out on you. I don't want to minimise the unpleasantness of your position. But after what you said before - about your ex getting upset about one of your boys changing his name, I think it was, or something like that - I think you have a history of standing between him and their anger about how useless he is as a dad. He doesn't deserve your protection over that, and it just reinforces his illusion that his behaviour is ok - if you seem to be accepting it, then it must be acceptable, mustn't it???

Oh, and remember that he's not just being unfair to the boys, awful though that is. He's being unfair to you by not pulling his weight as your co-parent. And that is just as important.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
