Aw thanks. I've PM'd you.
Here's an update on my house-buying saga. Those of you who followed it at the time may remember it went roughly like this:
House 1, next door to friend A. Owners decide not to sell after all.
House 2, lovely but with odd extension. Owners decide to put price up to ££stupid.
House 3, just along the road from friend B. Surveyor says not suitable for extension.
House 4, small detached house. Planning department put so many limits on extension that it wouldn't have been worth doing.
House 2 again. Vendors dropped price to a reasonable level and I bought it in Jan this year.
So, the news is.... Friend B has had a change of circumstances and needs to move to a bigger house. And they're looking at one just round the corner from where I am now.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
When things are dire, reach for the nuclear option in the parenting armoury. Chocolate ice-cream....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Even electric wheel chairs need steering. There is a guy who toottals about near here on an electric wheelchair and is clueless when it comes to speed control and steering. Whichever one of you is most well behaved tonight can have the first sit horse when you come to visit my house. Or if you don't like sitting on horses, whoever is quietist and most well bahaved can be the first to feed a biscuit to a dog or the first to stroke a chicken.
Just the first thing though. After that you get treated the sameExactly as well as you treat Mummy tonight

Thanks both of you. It was fine. We arrived, and the wife of the couple, a friendly sort of person who said she was a guide leader, invited the children out into the garden to pick plums while I talked to the husband and the people from the solar panel company. So not only was I allowed uninterrupted time to concentrate on the panels, but I have a large bag of free plums too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? grump...why aren't my plums ready?
We seem to have a really odd garden..blackberries three miles down the road are all ready, mine are hard green little nuggets, and everyone elses hollyhocks in the villages are almost over, mine haven't even opened yet.0 -
Grrrrr, grrrrr and for good measure....grrrrrrr!
Just read that my ex husband is off on holiday, the same ex husband who says he doesn't have enough holiday time/money to have the boys. I am absolutely spitting fire here as he put it on Facebook and two of the boys are on there and have him on their contacts, so they will see his status update and it will be me getting the fall out from them.
And to make things worse, he is going to where we used to go but had to stop because it was ultra blooming expensive. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Trying to book accommodation... all bl00dy answerphones! They're annoying. These are budget places, people locally who "let out the occasional room/let in waifs on courses".... so no websites. I know which one I want - but they've not called me back, and so I have no idea if they have a vacancy, or whether their actual rate is the rate on the list I am working from.
Then I had to dash to get some groin cream.... TMI.... why not just ask me to get the cream down... why tell me what it's for???0 -

My plums aren't ready too.
The garden needs a garden planner, think we may need to give in and spend some money.
And an unexpected spend today, I promised my sister I would pay for her surgery (foreign country, no NHS).0
