Most brits wouldn't behave like that, honest. Of course if they are chavs and swear at the kids and show no respect to anyone then you're probably on a hiding to nothing, but most people wouldn't behave like such sh1ts.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Sounds like great fun although they appear to have picked the coldest July day ever for itPasturesNew wrote: »Scorchio here today, again. Scorchio yesterday too.lostinrates wrote: »Not scorchio here, but beautiful. I'd swim, but shiver.
Cloudless and delightful here, but certainly nowhere near hot enough to tempt me into the water. DD stayed in for ages and ages though, and DS swam for a bit, played human table football for a bit, and went back in the water before finishing with some ping pong. This is much better "joining in with other children" than he usually does - perhaps we are making a little progress with the bereavement journey at last.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Yesterday, il pleut comme la vache pis here. It's a glorious sunny morning today though and I found out about an apparently excellent Italian butcher that I am off to see soon.
Now all I need to do is work out how to get hold of some tarragon and I can make one of my favourites; beef rib with bearnaise sauce and red wine 'jus' (gravy without flour).0 -
I just unwittingly saw coverage of what was clearly Amy Winehouse's body being put into a private ambulance. For every indignity lived out in public, is there there no dignity at all in her death?
Much greater stories of sadness this weekend, I feel totally frustrated by her death, but totally embarrassed and ashamed by what I just saw.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We are off on a charity walk at lunchtime, walking over some of the Thames bridges in London. It's only a few miles, and my wife has raised several hundred Pounds just by asking friends and family. I feel a bit of a fraud, really, as the walk is about the same length as one we often do on a Sunday anyway. We'll take MIL's dog along with us. Not sure why I'm telling you this...No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

We've had an exciting few days..all related to the boys, or one of the boys in particular.
Middle son ended Arts week at school with recording the material they have been working on during the week and finally, they have come up with a band name, got themselves a Facebook presence and have put it on a more official footing. I think the Arts week came just in time for them as they have been doing band practice for a few months now after school (the school are great and let them use the music rooms after hours - doesn't matter what style or how loud the groups want to play) fre.e of charge and it gave them the oomph to finally get things sorted.
I must say (although I am very biased), their original song is not bad at all, good rocky base to it but no vocals...middle son plays rhythm guitar on it. Their cover song was recorded during a practice and earlier on in the week when the lead guitarist was not too sure on the solo but again, not too bad an attempt but how to confuse people, the rhythm guitarist on this was the drummer on their original song.....and the drummer on this (middle son) was the rhythm guitarist on their original song.
What I found quite funny was the messages from some of the young girls at the school saying how amazing they were, how cool they were etc.....apparently they are now babe magnets! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Not sure why I'm telling you this...
Hypnotically confessional and addictive these NP threads.
Have a good time. I'm taking a break from windows for a second.
PN, I'd drop a courteous and very friendly note through the door next door if you don't want confrotation with them. If they are hoiliday makers to me its an acceptable move with people who are holiday makers not permanant neighbours - permanant neighbours it would be better to talk to.
Lydia, good, good news about DS. Excellent.
I noticed with pleasure I have fingernails, instead of stubs yesterday(they need some attention though!) then relaised they are growing sort of bent on the nail beds. I wonder what that means..if anything...they didn't used to. Means of course, I'll have to cut them all because curly nails are NOT attractive!:o
Re winehouse and talent.....hmm, I didn't like her voice particularly but I do think she was talented. I understand she did used to truley scat and improv.....very few singers do nowadays....I certainly used to hate it, not having a jazz ackground, when dh insisted I work on that skill. It requires true musicality, skill and knowledge and a sense of team and individuality to do successfully. As I say, I've never been any good at it.:D0 -

Sue - good for him! Best of luck to him....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Today I am looking at supported living options, to try to get into the knowledge of what there is, where, terms/conditions, costs. But beyond that there's rent or buy. Tricky one that. The olds are definitely of the "buy" mentality, but I am more of the "how long have you got? how hard will that be to sell on?" mentality .... but it's not my money, not my choice.... although I guess I'll be buying it up front anyway so they could move straight away, rather than the hell of living in a house on the market.0
