Very difficult. I personally think it is awful of your ex to want his son to come to a prison. With the best will in the world, you have no idea what he might see whilst in there, even just among the other visitors. I know not all people in prison are low lifes, but most are. And so are the people that visit...... So I would say no. The only thing I would be worried about is if he made a legal request for contact. I wouldn't want you to get into trouble. Ref his parents, they sound like they have tunnel vision, and that vision is helping their son no matter what at the moment, and not thinking of the consequences to them or to your DS.

Nice one on DS getting to do all that writing. At least it isn't effecting his school work then?

Sorry to hear about your dad. I guess though it will be a relief for your mum. There is only so long one old person can look after another old person, without the healthy one getting sick too. I hope that the cheaper rest home is ok. Will your mum have to pay loads for your dad to stay there?

I phoned camhs today to ask their advice about visits, and they were very noncommital either way, just said as long as I thought I was doing what was right for ds then no-one else can say whats best. I do genuinely believe that I am doing whats right for him, so my mind is made up.

£10.50 withdrawn from topcashback at last, been waiting ages for it to pay out :) Thats off to the mortgage pot. Tonight is ww and then my tesco order is being delivered between 8-9pm. I've spent £50 on stuff but have earned 1106 clubcard points, which is £33 in deals :money:

Chev - the home that dads been going to so far costs about £1k per week  Its because he needs one with specialist dementia care :(

Mart - I like to think his parents are decent people, but then I thought that about him too so I'm clearly not a good judge of character :o

Is the other one more of a general nursing home? Whats yours dads mobility like - if it a general nursing home, what steps do they make to ensure that the residents don't 'escape'? I only ask as my f-I-l 'escaped' a few times from his first care home, before they decided that they couldn't cope with him. And that was a Bupa home that so say specialised in dementia. Maybe they did, but they couldn't cope with mobile dementia residents!

This home seems much better Dangers, they went to see it today and he liked it :j Its walking distance from mums too which will help a lot, but the best bit of all is that they can do monday-friday lodgings and he can come home for weekends. Obviously this will be for a while until he can't be at home at all, but that way mum gets her life back and gets enough rest to be able to cope with him at weekends only :) He's on the waiting list now as they are currently full, but he is a high priority as he is male and relatively young (69). Mum said there was one other chap there with the same type of dementia and a similar age to dad, so that may be nice for him too :)

Half a pound on again at ww tonight, no real surprise, I haven't been trying too hard recently :o

Tesco shopping came, all nice and straightforward, no problems, £48 spent.

That's good news about the home and not far for your mum to visit him. Hope your dad does not have to wait too long for a place.

Morning, £2 paid out by quidco today, not a huge amount but still welcome nonetheless :)

The sun is shining and its only 5 more days at school til we break up :j Today we're having a lazy morning, then going to look after dad and the dog while mum goes to get her hair cut.

No major plans other than that. Ds behaved really really well last night while crouchy was here, I was really proud of him :D :T
