I'm also considering booking tickets for the Harry Potter studio tour for ds, it would be part of his birthday present for next year (we would go in the summer holidays), but they are £21 for kids and £28 for adults  but I do think he would love it. I spoke to my sister and am booking tickets for my nephews for their Christmas presents, so that means thats two more I can cross off my xmas list :D

Evening all :) After school today we nipped to sainsburys to get an itunes voucher for a friend, spent another £6 on top, so £21 in total. Got home to find ds other nanna had sent him a parcel with a book and a set of big cards with all the Kings and Queens on. I know I should see this as a really nice gesture but I can't help but seeing her real motive - she has never ever sent him anything here before, I think this is her way of reminding us they want to see him again soon  She knows I will get ds to phone or write to say thankyou and that will give her the chance to ask when they can see him next. They did only see him 2 weeks ago, its not like they haven't seen him for months, they live about 100 miles away and they make it very clear they are not interested in seeing me at all. The childish bit of me now wants to make them wait a bit longer :o Actually though, they will need to wait anyway, its half-term next week and we're pretty busy, then the weekend after that we're going to my brothers house, so that takes us to the middle of November anyway. They can wait.

Evening all, sorry for last nights rant, tonight I sent ex-mil a text thanking her for ds parcel. That way she has been thanked but I don't have to get into a conversation with her about when they will next be seeing ds ;)

We looked after dad tonight as mum was out with my sister, and it gave me the chance to copy out her address book, so I now have lots of people to write to for dads memory box :T I actually have no idea who half of them are, so I could be writing to old colleagues / neighbours / people they met on a holiday years ago and promised to stay in touch with / who knows! :D

Ds is nicely on his way to the land of nod so now I am going to go through my inbox and try to deal with some of the surveys / betting offers / random stuff in there that just needs sorting :)

Almost a quarter of the way to paying for the holiday :j My aim was to be at £300 by xmas, so hopefully I may be able to get a little bit further than that, although there is still the small matter of xmas to get through first :o

Went to collect a parcel after school, a 20 mile round trip, turned out to be 3 tins of soup to test from a survey, never mind, better than nothing.

Best news of the day, the guy I emailed that I found via lots of googling for Dads memory box has replied, he wrote a nice long email and also gave me three other names to try to track down :j :j

Only one more day to go :j :j Today was a hectic day but it did go quick. And I also managed to engineer a conversation with a new trainee teacher who started this term at our school ;):D

Today has almost been a nsd, just 60p on a snack at school.

Had my bath and am already tucked up under the duvet in my sleepsuit, cosy as can be :D I'm going to track back to last years diary and see when the heating went on last year and try to beat it this year :)

Ooh, was 26th October last year, tonight was the first time I have felt the slightest bit cold, but a warm bath soon solved that, so am hoping I can hold out a bit longer than that this year :)
