So it could be national, then?0

Farnborough branch are always very rude about £2 gift card, I was made to feel dreadful in front of a queue of people a while ago and haven't asked since.
Waterlooville branch seem to have the message, I did have to remind them a year or so back, but from recent experiences they give the card without asking
I did spread the word by telling next person in CS queue not to forget the gift card
Now, one gift card was a Royal Wedding one, so just maybe I have a mini collectors item in 100 years time as well as £2Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
SEL 20p at my local A Cumbernauld
hth
Yes - but what happens in my Asda is that customer spots the overprice & gets the £2 giftcard. Next thing you see CS rep scurrying off to do manual price change on the hand held or else generate a correct SEL.
So you do generally have to be the first in that particular store to spot it.
Which I am sure we friends of Martin can be - first, that is:D:D:D:D

The fudge!
The £2 giftcard policy is definitely national and store mgrs can't opt out
OK, I understand now. I'm WAY down in the South West and my Asda had the fudge by the tills all packs marked at 20p on the wrapper. Most of the SELs were for 20p but a couple were for 17p - and thats the ones that I pointed out at CS. I guess they must have been selling them at 17p and when the new stock came in some stores missed a few SELs so you are probably right - they will be all over the place.ELITE 5:2

DEF, Crawley - Sussex one says they stopped ages ago to.
Insist on getting one. If they refuse call Asda HO you will more than likely be given a gift card for more than £2. The reason gift cards are discouraged by Managers is because it effects their stores bottom line profit and their bonus.0 -
It is Asda policy to give a £2 gift card for an over charge, but they are suppose to only give one gift card per receipt, even if you have been overcharged more than once.
Sadly stores and customer service staff are reluctant to give them out, as they do effect the stores bonus, that is paid to managers and colleagues, but obviously not the only thing in the equation.
if you notice a wrong price, colleague should call another colleague, to confirm/check price, refund you the difference and £2 gift card. Sadly I have not seen an Asda store with a board behind CSD with policies on.0 -
Exactly.
Asda are currently ashamed of their own policy.
Surely they should be proud of their strategy: ie we hope we never get our prices wrong but when we do, we apologise and happily give you a £2 giftcard to say sorry?
