You are right flower, he shouldn't have to deal with it.
Just saw David Camerons speach, they are cancelling all police leave.0 -
You're right Flower it's not a job for security people, can't believe they don't have police at the Bullring yet anyway! Watching some of the clips on the news, there are people just rampaging about throwing litter bins and just bashing chairs over and over on toughened shop windows (which aren't breaking) - they look like they've been lobotomised! What are they thinking?! Just leaves me speechless.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I missed Cameron, streaming live makes my computer slow and I had to get work done (pssh!) I saw something about 16,000 Police on the streets of London tonight?
Is Sony the building on an industrial estate they're showing in smoke?0 -
It's in Enfield, not sure if it's on an industrial estate? It's a warehouse rather than a factory actually, but still!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

From what I can gather, police are outside where the looters are but security are inside. But as has already been proven its likely to only be a matter of time before they manage to actually get in the shopping centre.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Yeah, I'm really shocked at the scale of the damage. Can't believe the footage of stealing from the injured boy
I take back everything in my earlier posts. That's just pure scummy behaviour. What will people with Olympic tickets be thinking about East London now?

I wouldn't have gone to the Olympics because it's in East London to start with. But there's a year before that, it'll be long forgotten by the masses by then. At least I hope.
Thankfully, it hasn't got near us yet. I've heard of riots planned in Nottingham tonight. (Actually heard of car fires and petrol bombs in the centre already, but it could just be twitter gossip.) Nothing as of yet for Sheffield. If anything happens in Doncaster, that's when I'll start to worry for my family. But I don't think it will. I think rioting scenes are typical of a Saturday night in Doncaster anyways. Ho-ho!
Just watched the playback of Cameron. He's got a nice tan.0 -

No I think thats right. I'm pretty sure I heard Nottingham mentioned on the news....I may just be making that up though!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Afternoon all, not sure what else to add on the riots, but I'm the same as regards work, can't shake this horrible sick feeling and can't concentrate on anything else. I saw that vid of the lad getting robbed on fb this morning and just couldn't believe it.
I think the media in this country is partly to blame, I know politicians etc should be held to account but the media overhype everything until the country is in a frenzy. Also remember how much bad press the police got over their handling of the student riots? And now they're being criticised for not doing enough instead of being given support, it makes me mad. But then I think, the government also undermine our services with all their cuts, so I kind of think myself round in a circle. There's absolutely no excuse or justification for what is happening but it does make you wonder what could have gone so wrong in our society to get to a point where people think its fun to take part in such mindless destruction without any thought or compassion for those who are being affected. Its just horrific.
Sorry, mini rant over.
Also forgot to say before Tete, I loved the Simon's cat vid, that is exactly what mine have been up to, I love that cat's expressionI had seen the one of him climbing into bed before, but not that one, it brought a much needed smile!
Hope everyone is ok anyway wherever they are and that your trip gets sorted out somehow Birdie. I'm feeling very emotional about everything today, can't imagine how much worse it is for those directly affected.Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
My OH has gone back to work and taken a sleeping bag with him! He is supposed to finish at 11pm tonight but doesn't see himself finishing until morning again and then he is meant to start at 8am or something tomorrow!
Shrimpy- is stupid isn't it how they get critisised for being heavy handed and then for not doing enough!
The man is here uninstalling our old washing machine, new one coming tomorrow. A bit sad but i am excited as the other one was rubbish, so much washing to do though!0
