OH has just got home safe and sound, has to go back in for 3 though.

In other news I got £5 from a surveysite in account so have added to savings for challenge.

Oh my goodness Wendz, hope your OH is home soon safe and sound. Can't believe his team mate got run over!

ETA: Ahhh glad he's home now! :)

Are you thinking about helping with the clean-up Lara? Saw a snippet about it on the news before I had to rush out for work (late as usual!). Very good point you make about the consumer culture and people having nothing to lose but I just can't imagine ever being in the mind-set where looting and rioting is the answer, clearly that's evidence of my sheltered little life. :)

Tete, I saw that lady on the news last night too, I just couldn't believe her story. Got a few old school friends living in London now near the affected areas and their FB updates were scary reading!

Well done on fixing the laminator :) What were you laminating anyway?!

1000 calories isn't much Cinny, I'd be fainting on that! Could you have a bowl of cereal or something?

I got it up to 1100ish but was honestly so full, and it was late, I didn't want to eat anymore. I've upped all my meals a little today so hopefully I'll bank in over the 1200 tonight!

So so glad your OH came home safe Wendz. I know the Police are some what limited but I think they're doing an amazing job. Has anyone seen the photo on the Daily Mirror (I think) of that woman jumping from a flat above a shop they set on fire? :(

Lara makes a good point, but I still can't get my head around it. I saw some tweets flying around about the clean up Birdie, I wish I could help in some way! I do think it's terrible how David Cameron has personally reacted to it. I mean, Justin Bieber (or however you bloody spell his last name) has commented on it before Cameron has! All I can see happening is it fading away, and all of them getting away with it. They're too bothered about "Human Rights" of jamrags and seeming PC than anything else.

So glad your OH is home safe Wendz, I bet you want to tie him up and not let him out again do you? It must be so hard going out with a policeman/fireman with the constant worry.

Lara are you in Hackney? Hope you're OK! It must shake you up having it so close to home. I have a lot of friends in London and yeah, their FB updates were pretty scary. My two best friends are luckily not near affected areas (yet) - one said all that's happended so far in Islington is some youths ran into a coffee shop and stole some biscuits! :D My kind of looting hehe.

Tete - that just made me laugh, got to love the 'nicer' areas!

I am worried about him but not much you can do. Poppy gave him a massive smile when he came home so i am sure that made him feel better!

    Damn, they're on to me!

Has anyone seen the picture of a guy posing with his 'loot'? It's all xbox things then randomly - 3 tubs of Body Shop Body Butter!

Bless Poppy! Must have made his day seem a lot brighter.

I've been reading a thread about the riots in the arms and feeling sicker and sicker with each page _pale_

Just had a look on the live feed on the BBC and caught this interesting snippet: Karl from Leicester writes: 'As an Army officer, please do not go on about bringing the military in. More or less all the army has been in a warzone within the last two years, they have been fighting literally for their lives. I would have great concern that our troops are too prepared for using lethal force to be placed into an environment of violence on British streets.'Blimey, I think he's got a point there...

Bless Poppy for cheering up her Daddy, it must have put a lot into perspective for him! :)

You know the worst bit about my job? I have to log my time on a complicated time sheet thingy and submi it every week and it always makes me feel really bad that once I've put in the actual time I spent on projects I'm left with 2-3 hours a day unaccounted for so I have to go back and fiddle it so they can't tell I'm a skiver! ;)
