    I didn't! Or did I?! What! I'm confused :o

Only about Ron's belly. It's OK, I've read the book! EDIT - oh sorry maybe it was Birdie!

I know I should just phase her out - I certainly don't contact her to make plans anymore but she always contacts me - I don't get it. We're a bit old for all this really!!

New favourite snack - Asda mixed seeds, thay have split dried soya beans in them and they're so crunchy and addictive - not sure you'd get on with them though Dinah, they have a much more bony texture than an almond!

Two of my year group have already died - one girl had cancer all through school and died shortly after we left, and a boy went in the army and was serving in NI when another soldier shot him by accident - isn't that awful?!

Yeah they did look pretty funny, especially Ron with his padded belly! You know that they had to refilm that part because their aging make-up looked terrible on the big screen?! :p

Glad the meeting of the tribes went well, although it's not good that your parents still aren't excited about it, I'm getting cross about that, it's their daughter's wedding day! ! :o

I saw HP last night too, everyone found the end hilarious! (Hope this isn't a spoiler, Tete!) I don't think it was the best film of the series - my favourite is still Prisoner of Azkaban! - but it was good as the final episode.

Lara, I'm glad your parents have all met up, but I'm quite cross too that they're not excited for you. Have they just not got over the fact that you're getting married over here? I'm sure you'll whiz through the last bits of wedding prep and burn of 2lb in the process!

Also, I can't help but think that all families are a bit dysfunctional one way or another. God knows I'm cross with mine, but that's a long (and tedious) story!

Eesh, Cinny, your SIL sounds like a piece of work - what does your bro see in her? Surely nobody over the age of 8 demands a horse!

Way to go Starnac! I must get my ticker sorted today - though I quite like being Probably Poddle :) as I've just got a few quid through for TCB to get me on my way.

Tete, you're right about St Swithins - I hope it's all superstition, though even local BBC weather said no proper sunny spells until mid-August. Boo.

Ah Wendz, happy 3 months to Poppy! I saw your recent pics on FB - she's super cute :D

Ah thats fair enough, you've plenty of time to get married later. I just read it that you were now fundamentally opposed to the concept and wondered what had prompted the shift.

Been really bold and spent the morning looking for car insurance quotes. I've found quite a few that are around the £835 mark, but annually it comes to around £935 and I'd rather hang on to the current policy in that case as there is a £23 cancellation charge and we're only 5 months away from getting an extra years no claims so for the sake of saving £9 I don't think its worth it as next years policy with an extra years no claims should be lower by that much. I did try pretending NIM had IAM - and that knocked £80 off it (which is nearly the price of doing the qualification, so may well be worth us doing as we'd talked about him doing it and that would be a nice saving each year). If I knock NIM off the insurance entirely we would save another £411 but I don't think that's realistic!

At the risk of being blokey about it have you told her straight out shes doing it and that its unacceptable?

Gonna have to try those, I'm looking for something like dry roased peanuts but less bad for me.

Friendly fire is NOT a nice way to go, did you know him well or was it just "I'm aware of your existance"?

Pretending NIM had IAM? Something Annual Mileage? ??

I'd feel a twit having it out with her really. If she texted and said to meet up on Saturday I could say "Well yes if you are going to actually turn up" but then I'D feel like the cow!

Didn't know the boy at all really, just his name and face. Knew the girl all through primary school and never liked her - she was gobby and thick - the worst combination :o didn't deserve what happened to her obviously but I'm not going to pretend I liked her.

Yes these are a bit like dry roast peanuts, but without the flavour so they must be good for you :D

No need to do it like that, take the bloke approach of "listen you a mate and I don't want to fall out with ya but this isnt on, you want to spend time with your OH and thats fine but don't keep making plans with me only to drop them as soon as he whistles. If you wanna meet up with me then cool, but if your gonna keep acting like this then don't waste my time. I do have a life outside of you and when you cancel on me, the time I had planned to spend with you is wasted. Its not fair, its disrespectful and I wouldnt do it to you."

wow that got away from me a bit but it does say what needs saying without being b****y or aggressive. State the facts :D

Having reread it, depending on the tone you take that could actually come across badly. A firm but even tone is required methinks.

Morning all, sold a third Amazon game last night so had a little haul to take to the post office. Couldn't work out why the money wasn't showing but realised I hadn't marked them as shipped - obviously, as I hadn't posted them! So will do that today and will request it I think, to keep things moving.

Was a bit naughty and bought some Body Shop bits online this morning, I do love their moisturiser and Body Butter but wouldn't pay full price for it so after some deliberation I took the plunge, it worked out basically half price, plus I had an email from Top Cashback offering bonus cash back, it tipped me over the edge! I'm sure it said 24% but now I've typed that it seems like a ridiculous amount so might be wrong...

Tete - the friend thing is a tough one, I am probably a bit like that myself :o but not because of OH, just because I can be a bit of a homebody and sometimes just think I'd rather stay in and sew :o Girls can be so touchy, I agree you should say something to her but not sure I would actually do it if I was in your shoes, I'd probably just stew to myself! I know it doesn't have to be confrontational but I'm just a massive wuss! Maybe throw in a bit about how you look forward to seeing her/don't get to see her a lot, soften the blow a bit?

Our car insurance is half the price with me on it, even though I only have my provisional licence, go figure!
